The lions of Pride Rock have lived in their oasis for a few short generations, thriving off of the beautiful and luscious landscape. The Savannah they call home stretched for miles under the hot sun, but provided ample water and any other resources the lions could possibly need. Ahadi, the Pridelands current King, has ruled the lands for nearly five years with his mate Uru. They had faced the usual hardships of a lion pride, but they were finally blessed with two sons. Their first born, Mufasa, was to become the future King of Pride Rock. And their second born, Taka- though more recently deemed Scar-, was to become the leader of the Lion Guard, an elite team of lions known for patrolling and protecting the Pridelands in aid of the King.

Although there seems to be an uneasy rivalry between the two princes in recent times, Ahadi needs his sons to work together in order to push back the threat facing their Kingdom. Just outside of the Pridelands is a scorched wasteland the Pridelanders had been calling the Outlands; it had never been inhabited to their knowledge, besides the few small animals able to live there and the predators they’d pushed from their own lands.

Now, an unknown pride’s scent markers line the Pridelanders own, and sometimes push farther into the Pridelands than they’d like. Fittingly named the Outlanders, these lions have made it very clear they intend to take the Pridelands for themselves. This means the Pridelanders must ready themselves for a war they’d never imagined could occur.

This roleplay is designed to take place shortly after Taka becomes Scar, after his incident involving Mufasa and the water buffalo, which you can find on the Lion King Wiki under Scar's backstory, here. This is not designed to tell the story exactly as we know it however, so Simba's generation is entirely non-existent and might stay that way, depending on how we play out our story together! This is the Pridelands and Outlands as we know it, but with our own story to tell about some of the characters we know and love (while also adding our own) and while putting a nice little twist on it.

GUIDELINES

1. All Lioden rules apply.
2. Godmodding/powerplay is unacceptable. Be realistic in fighting, and remember, the only character(s) you should be making decisions for are your own.
3. Have as many characters as you can handle, but each must be accepted by myself or my co-mods before you can begin RPing.
4. Mature content- excessive violence/gore, graphic death scenes, and/or breeding- needs to fade to black or be taken elsewhere.
5. This is intended to be an intermediate/advanced RP. Replies are required to be 5+ sentences and you must practice proper spelling/grammar.
6. This is also a semi-realistic roleplay in regards to the animals/landscape. Please keep your lions realistic color-wise; we’ll only be accepting 2 white and/or albino lions and one melanistic, but if you think something else would work, feel free to ask! Just try and research a bit first if you want something more unique.
6. Be active. If you'll be gone for 3+ days, please message me or let us know in chat.
7. You may use photo-references for your characters, just please remember to source them correctly (photobucket, tumblr, etc. are NOT original sources). Try not to use artwork unless you have proof it's yours/was given or sold to you or unless it’s free to use.
8. No same-player romance. If you want your character to have a significant other, then try and form a relationship IC.
9. Limit 1x1. Generally wait until 3-4 people have posted after you before replying again.
10. If you read and understand all the rules, please tell me your favorite Lion King character in the other section.
