Edits:
1. I said gnawrocks passed at 100% at one point in parenthesis. My bad. It is at the parent opacity. My point still holds because none of the girls have the same opacities as the father for every marking.
2. Since this is now an image I'll have to re-give the links, which I shall do here:
Links are in order of appearance in the photo.

[My king]
[Lioness]
[Fail Cub]
[Other Lioness]

[Katze's Post]
^ This link will no longer take you anyplace. For some reason the thread was deleted. I'll say nothing of my thoughts on the matter. But that means there is now no public clarification on the topic (that I know of) other than this thread).

[Triple Celestial King]
[Daughter One]
[Daughter Two]
[Daughter Three]

I have edited in accordance to the the reasons the old was lost. Nothing from the old that was given as a reason has been included in here.

Clarifications (added as needed)

1. Someone on the other thread didn't understand what I meant with the breeding system. Let me break it down for you.

They was a time when if [Parent A] had a marking (For example, Celestial Speckles) in a slot (We'll say slot 2) & [Parent B] had the same marking (Celestial Speckles) in another slot (For say, slot 6), then the [Cub] that was born from mating [Parent A] & [Parent B] would have a chance to get two celestial speckle markings. One in slot 2 from [Parent A] & one in slot 6 from [Parent B]. If [Parent A] had 3 celestial markings, but [Parent B] had none, the cub would still have a chance to obtain all 3 markings from [Parent A] (and vice versa if [Parent B] had the markings. This is after you take in consideration that a king's markings will roll before a females do. So make sure the king either has an empty slot where you want the females to be, or the male has the markings you want.

With the new system, which they did not warn us about implementing, no matter how many markings (Celestial Speckles for this example) are on each lion, the cub will only ever get 1. If you breed [Parent A] who has celestial speckles in slot 2 & 3 with [Parent B] who has celestial speckles in slot 4 & 6, you no longer have the chance for a quad celestial speckle. You will get one of the four slots. And that is the issue.

Once again, i support. I had a lion that i gave to a new player who had x1 cream rosette and x2 onyx rosette. I was under the impression i would be able to rebreed a lion like that, but with this new underhand system i can kiss that goodbye unless i use gnawrocks, which are a premium item that i don't feel i should have to buy to be able to breed in a breeding game.

@Lex

I don't personally use Gnawrocks because I think they are useless, but can you use more than one per parent per breeding (like use 2 gnawrocks to pass a fathers x2 onyx), or would you have to use it on one and hope the other naturally passes? Either way it sounds too expensive, especially considering you would have to gnawrock every time you bred the stud if you wanted the double marking...

It's one gnawrock per lion. So yeah, i'd have to have a female with onyx rosette and a male with onyx rosette, use a gnawrock on both, and -hope- that i get lucky enough to have a rare mark pass from pure luck along with 100gb worth of rocks a breed

Spring-boarding off Heda's comment about banner announcements...

Many games release patch notes with every update that detail each change made to the game, however small they seem. I think Lioden's communications problems would become much smaller if they did that, instead of the clearly incomplete news posts we currently get. They could regularly post a comprehensive list of all the changes they've made since the last update. No padding, no trying to sell the reader on the changes, no cutesy doodles, no "jokes" about how hard the players are to please. Just simple, clear documentation of every change or bugfix (however small or inconsequential it seems) made to the site since the last update.

(Okay, maybe cutesy doodles would be okay.)

These notes could be archived and searchable and available for players to peruse for future reference. So if you were curious about recent changes to markings, you could search for notes containing (in the body, not just subject) mentions of markings and relevant pages would pop right up. They'd be easier to read than news posts, because they would be complete and there would be no padding. And it would certainly be easier to browse than the staff's current method of information dissemination, which too often involves posting vital information in chat box, or as responses in random threads.

If they did something like that, I think there would be a lot less ill will over changes like this. Would people still be upset? Of course. But they would feel less like the staff had been deliberately trying to keep them in the dark, and they would be able to immediately stop wasting their time and money on projects that the staff made impossible. More transparency from staff means fewer "conspiracy theories" from players.

It would also have the added bonus of making us all more aware of all the hard work the staff put into improving the site for us!

Another thing that might help would be having a breaking news section on the site where the staff could place alerts about ongoing issues without having to add an intrusive banner announcement or make a full news post. They could post there to let players know when they're aware of and working on a bug. Even a pinned (and frequently updated) topic on the bug board containing this info would be helpful. That could prevent players from worrying about whether or not a bug is being worked on, and prevent the staff from having to constantly having to answer the same questions about bugs in chat box.

That's just my personal take on how to solve the communication problem, though. I'm not married to any particular solution. I just want the staff to show a sincere intention to begin acting with greater professionalism and transparency.

I really want to believe that the staff have the best of intentions, and the recent drama has all been a big misunderstanding. Please, show us that you're listening and that you care!

I bought my tri rosette heir for my side account with the intent of eventually breeding a quad rosette with 2 onyx rosettes, a gold rosette, and a mottled rosette. Now that I've spent over 100 GB in both pure GB and items on this lion, I've found out that this is quite literally impossible unless I use Gnawrocks on every single breeding, which isn't happening. If they're going to adjust features like this, they need to announce it.

It is not fair nor right that they change things like this without actually telling the entirety of the user base (and that doesn't mean one lousy post on an obscure thread, this means an actual page banner announcement). It's not as though it's difficult to let people know when you've changed a bit part of the site (ie., breeding mechanics), and honestly, it's ridiculous that we weren't, and it's even more ridiculous that this has happened several times.

No matter what anyone might tell you, communication in this game is horrid and needs to be addressed ASAP. This isn't some tiny issue you can just sweep under the rug and call it clean, poor communication has been the downfall of quite a few sites and I'd hate to see that happen here as well.

@Fart, I agree.

I was just thinking about this again and I wanna add a little more.
These patch notes shouldn't be sorted like the news. It should be a continuous page so that users can easily F4 (search) for any specific topics they may be needed. Finding things in the news is so hard to find bc you have to find the specific post based on headings (That might not pertain to what you need so you have to guess), and then you have to F4 all the filler away. I had to search at least 3 pages of news posts to find something once.

As for a place for them to be linked, I was thinking on the "News" tab; underneath the "Game Polls" & "Referrals" links.

"Breaking News" could be a long bar that stretches above "News" and the "Game Poles"/"Referrals" links.

TBH I didn't see any problem with how most things were handled until this little marking thing which I think should have been stated in their news post, That's what it's for after all lol. I'll support anyway though because I'd like a little area or something where I can keep track of all updates or whatever on since when I take breaks it can take forever to read through every news post and comment to make sure I don't miss anything~
Though I'm pretty sure there's something in the ToS that says they can change the game whenever without notifying us or whatever and if there is then they're not in the wrong IMO lol. I'll double check and remove this if it's wrong unless someone can correct me~

After months trying to get two copies of Clay Panther onto a lion I'd started to suspect this. Extremely disappointed to have it confirmed and annoyed that it has to be from a suggestion by another user and isn't listed anywhere.

Support.

Not even sure why this was implemented in the first place. Seems like a money grab to me. Let's have the marking system go back to the way it was, the way it should be.

No support. The staff does an awesome job and let's face it, we (the userbase) CAN be pretty difficult to please at times. They might see peoples' dislike of the changes and roll back but probably not.

@Vampire

Are you, uh, actually going to face any of my points? Of course the entire base is hard to please, as there are over 100,000 of us (possibly), but this change they made had no reason to it. There was no one (that I know of) out there saying 'you know what I hate? breeding double markings and colors." because it doesn't really happen unless you're trying to make it happen. Unless you're using applicators you've got to breed for that shit. I'm suggesting this be reversed because it doesn't hurt anyone to be able to do it, but it hurts people to not be able to.

You're also not even bothering to address the fact that this was a massive change, and the staff didn't even bother to tell us. I've wasted over 50Gb on my Margay overload project, Typhon wasted like 100Gb, Lex sold an expensive heir; all because we were under the impression that the old system was still in place. There was no reason for it to be removed, and no warning on its removal.
Also, you're clearly wrong in your post. The staff are not good at communicating changes to the community as a whole. Many of the commonly known players have already agree to this (not limited to, but including; Thalath, Lex, and Fart).

Did you even read the entirety of the post?
