Wiki entry about Combo Bases

This began as a way to share theories about possible combinations, but then things got way bigger than expected. A lot of people have invested a lot of currency in the scrying stone to see if we were right about combos, and here is the result :D

But wait... What are combo bases?

When you breed two lions with the right combination of bases, their cubs roll a further, extra chance that can result in a third, new base, a "combo" base. Each combo base has its own requirements, and these bases often ignore the set genetic rules: for example, the Cairngorm combo base (Black Light Solid Special genetics) can be obtained by breeding a Celestial lion (Black Dark Countershaded Special genetics) and a Cocoa lioness (Black Medium Countershaded Rare genetics). Most combo bases can be passed down as long as one parent has it and further requirements are met if there are any, with the exception of Pulsar and Temporal.

*Since the 12th October update, cubs that have triggered the original combo bases - Cairngorm, Citrine, Madagascar or Qahir - have a 50% chance of getting their respective mane color, and these can be inherited like any other mane color!

Right now there are two different types of combo bases: "standard" combos and "factor" combos. Factor ones can be obtined by breeding any of the bases that make up the combo, but standard ones can be obtained by more than one combination of bases that are assembled into two different groups. The combo can trigger as long as the parents have bases that belong to a different combo group (not to be mistaken by the genetic color group).

*Note: While some of the following standard combo tables have been completed, there may be some combinations that remain undiscovered yet.

I am going to quote the News that introduced us to Combos, so we can pick at it. (The quote links back to the News post, in case anyone wants to hunt for replies from Xylax that may hint to future additions.)
-----------------------------------------------------
"As a Lioden first, we have now added to the game a set of four bases that can only be obtained by breeding two parents with specific bases! Each of the new bases require one parent to have 1 of 4 bases, and the other parent to have another 1 of 4 bases. When the right combination is made, cubs will roll a further rare chance and if that succeeds, the new base will be born! We’d like for you guys to figure out the other three bases so we don’t spoil the surprise, but to give you the best example, here is how Cairngorm can be obtained - you can notice it is produced by special bases:"

"The first four bases (Cairngorm, Qahir, Citrine and Madagascar) are only the beginning to this system, which we hope to expand. In the future there will be bases that can be bred only during certain events, only in the wet or dry seasons, and only during the night or daytime. We'll have fun picking a lot of ideas from base art suggestion forums as well! There’s a lot we can do and we’re very open to suggestions for what you guys want to see too!

Edit: Combo bases can pass if they meet combo criteria, ie. Cairngorm needs at least one of the 8 listed bases to be parent 2."

-----------------------------------------------------
So, it doesn't necessarily state that the expansion includes new factors to the first 4 bases, but it does state that expansions are hoped for, so maybe new factor bases are part of the first expansion? :/

I'd like to think it would be at least hinted in the news post of the week the combo bases get additions. Even when a new mutation is added, and we aren't told what it is, we are told that it exists. Why would these be different?

Lol as i said it didnt make sense to me either until i went back to remember when i changed his base from.Nacre to Bloodbourne and it was around the exact same time the Madagascar was Concieved so she was probably produced while he was still Nacre which would actually make sense. Sorry if i confused you all aha

It's okay. It sparked some discussion again, lol.

Berenos, I agree with you in that it would likely be hinted to, if they added something. We always get a News post about new base colors, and new mutations, so I would be inclined to think they would post something hinting to a change.

But, I often wonder if someone has a moment and decides "Hey, let's throw this in there, and see what happens."

Yeah, I haven't had any luck yet either. But then, it took me over 100 breedings to get my first primal cub, so im not that worried about it, lol.

My king is Madagascar, Im breeding to several types of bases especially his own breeding type and I have had no luck, though I suspect there is a time frame and a season attached. If people could post the time of day (lioden time) and the season the lioness is bred, it might help shed some light

My side king is Maddy, Tor Gruth #36375

I've bred 2 Cairngorms, but don't recall time of day or season.
But, I am breeding 6 lionesses this morning, including both of my successful moms.

Bred during Dry Day Time, approx 6:48am LD time.

Cocoa/Low/Lvl7 ----- (made Cairngorm before)
Cocoa/Average/Lvl7
Ethereal/Good/Lvl2
Slate/Low/Lv;9
Slate//Average/Lvl2
Slate/VLF-30/Lvl2 -- (made Cairngorm before)

Edit to add, I missed a girl with the first group:
Bred during Dry Night Time, approx 7:17am LD time.

Ethereal/VLF-7/Lvl5 + Black Stallion, and she's a Broken Pie.

"wet or dry seasons, and only during the night or daytime."

The news post said season and day/night has a factor, so this may reflect not in real day/night, but lioden day/night as well as seasons. Ive been trying to take not at time and season for each litter.

They also suggested events may have a factor too, though they did not say whether or not the first 4 bases released would be affected by this.

@🐉Navnløs

"In the future there will be bases that can be bred only during certain events, only in the wet or dry seasons, and only during the night or daytime."

That part of the news referred to possible future combo bases, not the current ones we have.
