Before you downvote or lock this, let me explain.

Currently on Lioden, you are unable to block moderators. If you were to attempt to block a moderator, this is the message you would recieve:

blERTEAHQmeUBO9r5EQSgw.png

The issue with this is: Moderators play this game as well as moderate it.
Moderators can message people, buyout and offer on trades, etc, just like any other person on site.

What does blocking do?

-Makes it so a player cannot private message you
-Makes it so a player cannot buyout your trades
-Makes it so if you see a player's thread or comment in the forums, it is hidden with a "show from blocked player button"

What blocking does not do:

-Make it so the blocked parties cannot look at your den
-Make it so the blocked parties don't see your chat messages
-Make it so the blocked parties cannot see anywhere you may or may not be breaking rules

But Lex, what if a Moderator needs to contact you for mod business? You'd have them blocked, how will they message you?

That's what this is for

5B8DnSraRtWD925eGjuSsQ.png

If moderators need to contact you, they can easily bypass a inbox block through the moderator messages, which is strictly where moderator messages due to site infractions or concerns should go.

With this system, the only way to have it so a mod doesn't contact you or buyout your trades is to pm them and say "Hey, i don't like you, don't do these things." which can be overlooked anyways.

What i propose:

-Ability to block Moderators like regular players
-Moderators can override blocks to preform Mod duties, but ONLY Mod Duties.

In my opinion, if a moderator is allowed to play the game like a regular player, they should be able to be blocked like a player. It doesn't infract on a Mod's ability to do their job if they can't PM a user about a lion they have for sale or offer on a trade when if they didn't have the green paw they wouldn't be able to do so otherwise.

TLDR; You should be allowed to block a mod like any other player since they can contact you and act like any other player

And before someone says "Well, if you have an issue with a moderator, you can PM an admin about it!" I'm aware of this. I highly doubt the admins will want to listen to me whine and complain about if a moderator that i don't like for outside reasons PM'd me about a trade or if they offered and removed on my trades too many times.

Thank you for reading, and please feel free to share opinions below.

I agree. If they can interact with other users like a non-paw user, they should be blockable by other users like a non-paw user, especially since we have the moderator messages section. It's not to sound mean, but just as we have reasons to block normal users, we have reasons to block moderators. Usually personal reasons at that (since some people did have friendships with members before they became staff, but may have broke off after the fact), and it wouldn't be to hide rule breaking since blocking doesn't actually perma-hide anything from anyone.

Supported. Blocking a moderator does NOT limit their ability to moderate you, per Lex's note regarding the Moderator Messages. It simply removes their ability to interact with you on a player-to-player basis.

Moderators are human too, and sometimes humans don't get along with one another. Moderators should not be exempt from blocking.

No support. I have only ever had the urge to block a mod when I was being rude over an issue last year, and about a week later, I was able to look back and go- why was I being that petty? This would cause more issues than it could ever solve.

Gotta support this, as Lex always brings up issues I have yet to think of!
It probably still says that from when Mod messages went to your normal messages now that that has changed we should be able to block who we please.

Fortmax - This isn't** about being able to block a mod because you're mad they got onto you. Mods are people, as everyone likes to point out when we criticize them, which means they have people retionships. Sometimes those go sour. Personally I would like to be able to block someone who has wronged me outside of their staff position. It's only fair, if not they shouldn't be able to communicate outside their position, which is unfair to ask of anyone.

I also fail to see any issues it could cause since you didn't give any. Mods have their own inbox to send warnings. So they should still be able to do that. It just means they can't normal (player) message you and can't buy from you.

When did you block them? If it was before they became a mod that may be why.

I support! I always wondered if you can block helpers/mods and now I know the answer.

The only concern I have with this is what about moderator hub tickets? Will that blocked mod be able to respond to your ticket? Other than that question, everything looks great.

I'm stoopid :') That counts as the mod's job so of course it will be allowed.

Perhaps this should go for helpers as well? Unless you can already block a helper :') I don't block many people so I wouldn't know

@Heda

I think he was a helper when I blocked him. Thanks for the information. :)

That's probably why then because you can block helpers.

Now that moderators are anonymous, the excuse the people will do block out of spite doesn't exactly work (unless maybe past spites but). Unless you wanna block all of them for no reason, but it should again be noted that this change would not keep mods from disciplining you, only from interacting with you like a normal player. The only time they could interact is when doing their duty (which, once more, is anonymous now).

I support this, I had a mod be rude to me publicly and I rather not deal trades with them.
