Sadly, the time has come for your king to step down from his throne. You now have a choice. Do you wish to have one of your own males in your den take his place or do you want to re-roll for another game-made lion? *Be careful what you choose! The re-rolled lion will start you over completely with low stats and basic colors whereas any other lion will keeps its stats and coloration.* Q: When will my king die?A: All lions die by 16 years no matter what. While females can randomly die from anywhere between 15 years and 16 years, males always live to be 16. So make sure you have the next male that you want to become king before he turns 16, unless you don't mind re-rolling for a game-made lion! *Every RL day logged in is a month LD time. So from the 3 years, that's roughly 5 month's time if you log in every day. Or just do the math from whatever age your lion is currently at. So for example, a 6 year old lion has 10 more LD years until it's forced to retire. 10 years times 12 months is 120 RL days that you log in.* Q: Can you remind me again of what a rolled lion is like?A: A rolled lion will only have 5 in each stat except for skill. They only have the wild colors, like the wild lioness colors, such as Gold variations, Rosy Brown, Dove Grey, etc. You only have 5 rolls of randomly generated colorations to choose from, cannot choose a previously rolled option, and are stuck with the 5th if you keep rolling. Q: Do I have to wait until my lion turns 16 to replace him?A: If you do not wish to wait until your king turns 16 before he gets replaced, retiring at 15 years old is free ^-^ Or you can spend 10GB (gold beetles) to retire him early. He does not have to be a certain age or have been king for a certain amount of time in order to retire him. If you wish to retire early (before the game forces/prompts you to), it's at the very bottom of your king's page. *Warning: If you have recently retired a male, there will be a fee of 15GB to bypass the 'retirement cooldown'. So with the bypassed cooldown fee of 15GB plus the new early retirement (10GB), would make the whole new second retirement a total of 25GB.* Q: Are only the sub-males able to become the next king or can it be any male lion in my den?A: Any male lion, young or old, in your den can become your next king. Having a subordinate male is a feature that is not necessarily associated with the replacement of your king. You will have the option to choose who you want your next king to be. If you want a cub instead of your oldest subordinate, choose him then! :) *However, a cub or adolescent will be automatically aged to 3 years, no matter what he was previously at, when your original king steps down. No age change will be made to an adult male, though. If your next chosen king is say, 5 years old, he will remain that age when he takes over.* Q: Wait, I just saw a female lion and it's being referred to as a queen! What gives? How do I do that?A: They aren't actually females. There's an item called a "Lab Test Frog" that makes the lion -look- like a female. They're still males though, it's just an aesthetic change. You can buy the item in the Oasis for 2GB at any time or see if anyone else happens to be selling one. Q: Why is it telling me to rename my lion? And what if I make a mistake in renaming my lion --is it permanent?A: Any normal lion in a pride can have any name within Lioden's rules. But the king is connected to your user ID. So your king has to have a unique name to the game. There's no possible way you can have 2 lions/2 accounts with the same exact name at the same time. So if it's not a "unique" name, it gives you an error message until you find one. Basically like signing up a new account. *If you happen to mess up on naming or just simply want to change the name at any point for whatever reason, you can do that in the Oasis for 1GB. It's towards the bottom of the page.* Q: Can my customized lion become the next king and keep its colors and stats?A: Absolutely! Just choose to use the appearance of the heir. Additionally, the other option is that you can choose to reuse the colors of your past king if you want. So if you have a current lion you really like and you want to reuse his colors on the lion you replace him with, you can do that. Or say this male that has been asked about with his customized colors and stats is to be your next king. When he dies, you can also reuse his customized colors as well on the following male after him! *Thing is, though, this is restricted to the most recently passed lion. You cannot choose any coloration you have ever acquired as a king. If you re-roll for a new lion, you will not have the option to pick a previously acquired color.* Q: So since I can keep the old king's colors, can I keep stats and mutations too?A: Unfortunately, that is a no. The impression level and experience points/level your current king is at all get wiped as well. You're starting anew as a king. But if your heir had its own mutation, it Does stay with him :) *Though you might have heard of "stat replacers". Which are the cubs/adols/lions used to intentionally retire a king early because of more desired stats for breeding/studding purposes. In most cases, people tend to keep the old king's looks which makes the new lion a literal replacement with better stats and hence the dubbed term.* Q: What about my lionesses, sub male slots, territory size and all of that? And what about the decor I have on the kings? Does that get wiped too?A: No, no, no! No worries! That stuff is all earned and associated separately with your account. It has nothing to do with your king. As for the decor, anything that was on your previous king should get sent back to your hoard and any that are on your replacement should remain with him. (So long as it wasn't on its last use). It's all safe :) Q: What will happen to my lion when he dies or is retired early? Is he erased from the game forever or can I still see him?A: Don't worry! You can visit his profile by clicking the dynasty link on your den page. Dynasty is another section for passed kings to be stored in and will keep the same style profile they had when they were alive, only have a new image with clouds and a halo. You can still see their stats, appearance, experience, etc. This is the same for the Former Pride section that is meant for lionesses and subordinates. *Do note that, as the dynasty page says, unless your lion is stored in a slot, it will permanently removed from the game (no longer visible/accessible) after 7 days. So be sure to store your lions before they are deleted from the game! After all, the servers do need as much space as possible to run faster! Q: What if I don't want to pick an heir after he dies, is that possible?A: No, you will not be able to do anything in the game when your male dies except for access the chat box. This game can't function without a king for your pride so you will have to pick an heir, whether it be a rolled lion or another lion in your den, before you can do anything. Q: Alright, but what if I don't like my lion anymore and don't wanna wait until he gets old enough to die on his own or pay more to retire him early? Can I just starve him to death or something?A: Heh, starving him does not kill him. Just means your energy doesn't replenish. Which means no exploring or breeding if everything is completely run out. There's really no way to lose your king unless he turns 16 (or you get rid of him purposefully with GB/early retirement). Q: Well I for one LOVE my current king and Don't want him to die. Can I prevent that at all?A: Not really. There's an event where you can drink magical water that ages him down a little bit. But aside from that, your king ages along with all of your other lions every time you log in. So you'd have to just not log in at all. So if you want, you can keep a lion you really like on your second permitted account and just like never log into that account and use your other as your main. But even when it's prolonged, 16 is the magic number for an inevitable death. Though that is pretty much the main reason for the feature of keeping your old king's looks when you retire. Unless it's his stats you don't wanna lose. In which case, it's just a sad fact of life =/ Curious to see what the retirement page looks like? (Clicking takes you to the retirement page) (If you choose no for the heir's appearance, you will use your previous male's design. If yes, you will use your heir's appearance.) 40 players like this post! Like? Edited on 07/05/18 @ 12:57:16 by Libby Eve {Summer} (#29277) |

Hey all. Surprisingly or not, I am the creator of the original version of this thread made in late 2013. So if you're confused as to why it's me and not "Summer's Eve", I'm literally just switching accounts for easier access to it. I hardly logged into that account and it became a little bit of an issue for the time it took for people to get their answers. For a long time new features have come into the game or people have had additional questions to what was originally posted in the Q&A. At 12 pages and many repeated questions, it has certainly needed a revamp. So I took the time to read back through all of the questions in the comments and added them and their answers to the revised Q&A. Hopefully this revised version answers all necessary questions players may have about retiring their kings and if not, feel free to ask! But -please- read through everything thoroughly first! If I cannot get to answering quick enough, I'd greatly appreciate the continued help of other players stepping in <3 If anyone is unsure of their answer, please note that as a disclaimer, wait for someone else to answer correctly, or direct them to a helper/the helper hub in the case of buggy issues. Thank you :) 4 players like this post! Like? |

If my sub is 12 years old and I retire my king and make the sub my king, will he still die at 16? He won't change age? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Your retired king will be replaced. Idk what age he'll be in the dynasty or this new Grandpaw thing I haven't looked into yet. The sub that is now the king will be aged down from 12 to 8 and eventually naturally die at 16 if you don't retire Him sooner than that. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I know it mentioned something about this in the FAQs up there, but I just want to clarify it better for myself so i'm certain: So I have a look i'm going for on my new king, and I can get all of the marks eventually except one that I have to either get through breeding, or give up on: celestial speckles in slot 10. So say i breed a cub/female that has celestial speckles in slot 10, and no other markings (like i'm trying to do now), then I breed that cub/female to my current king until I get most/all of his marks to pass to a cub. Does that cub have to be a primal for me to be able to replace my current king and keep his primal mutation, while replacing his look with the heirs look? Basically, I wanna give my king celestial speckles. xD or more specifically, replace him with a new king with exactly the same marks, with celestial speckles added. because, while breeding for specific marks seems difficult, breeding for marks on a primal seems harder, but I feel like the heir would have to be primal. 0 players like this post! So long story short with what passes, is ONLY the markings. So if your king is primal, your replacement will not be. And thus you have to continue breeding to get all of your markings onto a Primal cub. Or..you could use the mutie on demand item. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

@ Chelsey Should be able to :) @ Lynxes Nope. Male slots are per the Pride -on- the account, King -is- the account. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Each of those questions are already answered within the Q&A... The King is your account. Not your pride. There are no Pride slots associated with him, ever, except the new Grandpaw stage which literally only shows as a "slot" from the lion going from 16-17 years old or a slot in the Dynasty which is noted to also be separate from your pride. And the retirement page is the retirement page, which is linked/described. Either you wait for him to turn 16 or you go to the page and retire early. 0 players like this post! Like? |
