EDIT: Going forward I want to post all of these on one thread, so I'm gonna be making a separate post for each event's info.

Back in February, I decided to make a quick reference sheet for how many heart shells each option for each explore encounter can give you. I did the same thing for March, and then I realized that it would probably be better to have all of the info on one thread.

These lists are intended as something you can keep on hand while exploring to help you choose the explore option that gives you the most event currency. All of this information can be found on the Lioden wiki, however, I found it helpful to have a quick guide I can briefly glance at while exploring, so I figured I'd make some guides like that and post them for anyone else who may find them useful.

I only list event encounters that you have to interact with. So if you automatically get something by seeing an encounter, that won't be listed. However, I do list encounters where you have to interact, but there is only one option.

Changelog:
- 5/13/2018: Added Info for May Event.

January - Great Hunger

Wiki page

This event technically has two currencies: Leather Beetles and Silver Beetles. You use SB to buy things in the main shop and LB to buy things in the boneyard.
For this event, I have still prioritized LB, but I have also included information on the SB and item drops from other outcomes, because those items can be sold for SB, and because meat and bones play a role in this event.

Encounters that Give LB:

Very Hungry Animals: Hyena (Spotted), Hyena (Brown), Leopard, Cheetah, African Wild Dog, and Jackal
End its misery!: Battle, +1-3 LB and some SB if won

Vultures: Cape Vultures, White-Backed Vultures, Hooded Vultures
Attack! or Exterminate!: Battle, +1-3 LB and some SB if won

Bunch of Hyenas:
Attack!: Battle, +1-3 LB and some SB if won
Chase Away! gives no LB.

Not So Fresh Buffalo:
Scavenge!: +2 LB
Approach! gives +1 LB and +1 Large Meat Chunk

Rotting Cow Carcass:
Scavenge!: +2 LB OR +1 LB and +20 SB

Scavenging Marabou Storks:
Charge!: +1 LB and +1 Decaying Giraffe Hide
Pounce! only gives +1 LB and some SB if you win

Elephant Skeleton Tree:
Scratch: +1 LB, +10 SB

Dying Dog:
Either: Both choices usually give +1 LB. However, there is a small chance to get a special decor from each option: Kill the Dog! gives Dead Ridgeback and Sniff Around gives Starving Puppy.

Starving Cubs:
Either: Both choices usually give +1 LB. However, there is a small chance to get a special decor from each option: Ignore the Cubs gives Rueppell's Revenge and Protect gives Starving Cub.

Cannibal Lion:
Run away!: +1 LB
Kill!, however, is also a good choice. If you win, you get a Lion Skull and a very small chance for a Lion Meat.

Encounters that Never Give LB:

Zebra Carrion:
Scavenge!: +1 Small Meat Chunk, +1 Rib Bone

Fresh Zebra:
Take!: +1 Zebra Carcass

White-Headed Vulture Eating Bushbuck:
Kill!: +1 Young Bushbuck Carcass
Steal Food: +1 Bushbuck Carcass (less uses and sells for less than young one (for some reason))

Vulture Nest:
Sniff!: +1 Bird Eggs, +1 Vulture Feather

Dying Striped Hyena:
Drag Away!: +1 Elephant Calf Carcass
Suffocate!: +1 Striped Hyena Skull (sells for less than elephant calf carcass)

Warthog Den:
Dig!: +3 Warthog Carcasses

Storyline Hyenas: Chuckling Hyenas and Large Hyena Clan
Attack!: some SB if you win
Keep in mind that the chuckling hyenas are not the same as the other encounter with 3 hyenas, which can give LB. You can tell them apart because this encounter looks like the three hyenas from The Lion King.

Automatically give LB: Chacma Baboon corpse (+2), Rotting Leopard (+1, +1 Leopard Skull), and Dead Human (+1, +1 Human Bones)

Never give LB, SB, or items: Hyena Cubs and Dying Lion.

March - Anti-Poaching

Regular encounters:

The following explore encounters never give rb: Helicopter, Caracal Cub, Rhino Calf, Serval Cub, Cheetah Cub, Hyena Pup, and Lion Cub.

Shady Poacher - Battle - Gives 1 if you win. This encounter is available year-round, but it gives rb during this event.

Elephant Calf - Wait - Gives 2, whereas Kill and Nudge give 1.

Pinned Poacher - Sniff Air - Gives 1, whereas Climb gives none.

Oryx Calf - Nudge It - Gives 3, whereas Snatch It gives 2.

Zebra Duiker - Either - Both give 1.

Ethiopian Wolf - Try to Free It or End Suffering - Both give 2, Leave it Be only gives 1.

Caged Gorilla - Open Cage - Gives 3 (and a broken drone!), whereas Scavenge only gives 2.

Atlas Lion - Spar! - Gives 1 if you win, whereas Admire gives none.

Addax Calf - Pounce - Sometimes gives 1, whereas Go Around gives none.

Poisoned Elephant - Eat the elephant. Gives 3, whereas Eat a vulture gives 1 and Scent mark! gives none.

Camouflaged Truck - Approach - All three choices will either give you rewards or initiate a battle, randomly. Approach has the best static rewards at 3, and the other two have 2. If a battle is initiated and you win you will get 8 regardless of the option you picked, but you get nothing if you lose.

Broken Jeep - Ravage - As with the truck, all three choices will either give you rewards or initiate a battle, randomly. Ravage and Rive have the best static rewards at 3 each, whereas Roar only gives 2, HOWEVER, Rive has a -5% energy penalty whereas Ravage does not, so Ravage has the better static rewards overall (ignoring Karma). I usually don’t factor in energy, but since the only other difference between these options is karma, I included it this time. If a battle is initiated and you win you will get 6 regardless of the option you picked, but you get nothing if you lose.

Poacher encounters:

There are several poacher encounters this month. You will encounter poachers in groups of 1-4. Each time you see these encounters, three (mostly) random options are chosen from a pool of 30.

Personally, I would suggest choosing an option that is guaranteed to give you rb. There are some cases where you might get more rb if you battle, and the encounters that give 3 to 4 rb if you win are definitely worth looking at, but overall I prefer picking an option that I know will get me a reward over an option that might get me a reward. I’ve bolded the options that always give you rb (unless you hit a trap ofc).

Cower, Escape, and Flee always give no rewards. Get Dirty usually gives nothing but has a small chance to yield the Muddy decor (which is only like 100 sb right now anyway). Take Cover doesn’t give rb, but it does give 2 elephant calf carcasses.

Deep Growl, Diversion, Rage, Sneak, and Stand Proud always give 2 rb.

Bluff Charge, Disarray, Fray, Lure Stampede, Maul, Roar, Scare, Scrap, Slash, and Terrify always give 1 rb.

Agitate and Charge either give 2 rb or initiate a battle, giving 1 rb if you win.

Ambush and Approach either give 1 rb or initiate a battle, giving 1 rb if you win.

Clash initiates a battle, giving 4 rb if you win.

Combat and Strike initiate a battle, giving 3 rb if you win.

Battle and Fight initiate a battle, giving 2 rb if you win.

Attack initiates a battle, giving 1 rb if you win.

May

Wiki page

May explore encounters are very straightforward. You get most of your Manticora Beetles from the championship battles, but you can also get some from explore encounters. All encounters occur regardless of zone and time of day. You can’t get arena tokens from explore.

Lion Fighting Encounters: There are four of these and they’re essentially the same. A lion comes up to you, mentioning something about the challenges, and you can Punish! him, which initiates a battle. If you win, you get 1-2 mb.

Lioness Claiming Encounters: There are also four of these and they’re also essentially the same. A lioness comes up to you, mentioning something about the challenges, and you can either Claim or Attack her. Claim gives you 1-2 mb if you successfully claim this ncl, and Attack gives you 1-2 mb if you win the battle. Which one you pick is really up to you.
