I was thinking there should be item kind of like the Shadow of Death that will make your lion lose 20-30% hunger instantly. This would allow players to use items like Honeycomb without waiting for rollover or give it to another lion before it rots. It could also be used if you want to use an item such as a GMO chicken, but don't want to give it to a lion with 5% hunger and overfeed them.

It would either be sold at the Oasis (with a few uses on it) or Monkey business at a higher price. Otherwise, it could also be an event only-item like in April when there are lots of bunny carcasses that pile up. The actual appearance would be some sort of herb/seed that would show a message like: "Your lion eats [item] and starts to get an empty feeling in their stomach."
