So with the new reddit type system, I figure there's a few more things we need to make sure it does work as intended and isn't abused. Some of these features may already be implemented behind the scenes, but just in case they aren't I'll leave them here anyways. - Anonymous posts (Already suggested here) - Locking threads in the board from before a certain date: Players have been going back years to answer really old questions for these points, and it's getting slightly ridiculous. Many questions probably don't even apply anymore due to updates since they've been asked. - Downvoting: Not sure how it works currently, but incorrect answers should reduce the number of helper points a player has to ensure players are answering responsibly. (Trolling would not be possible as mods can monitor players mass downvoting, and in combination with anonymity people would not be able to target players) Downvoting would also apply for spam, that is additional, repetitive answers on a question when there is already a good answer. - Display the help rating instead of just ordering it: 1 upvote vs 100 is pretty different in terms of correctness of answers. - Removing/hiding/putting under spoilers any posts past a certain number of negative votes. - Allow a best answer to be chosen by the OP which is displayed at the top - Don't allow new players(within a month or something) to vote on helpfulness unless it is the OP. - Instead of 'was this helpful', it should be 'Good answer?' due to players spamming the same answer after others have already answered. - Adding a third option to vote for next to answer for repetitive/spam answers, which would be, for example, double posts, answers that don't contribute anything new to currently existing answers, etc. These would leave some kind of trace on the user that mods can then use to hand out warnings to those that are repetitively spamming threads. I'm sure there are other things that could be added, so feel free to add your suggestions below! |

I 100% support all of this. I asked a question regarding a lioness being transferred, and I got several replies that were just flat out incorrect and wasted my time. ![]() |

Great ideas, I definitely think these kind of additions would be a big improvement ![]() ![]() |

Total support! Some of the players are being ridiculous about the whole thing. I've seen questions that have already been answered two years ago being dragged back and answered again. It's crazy. ![]() |

System really needs serious adjustments if it's expected to work at all. Support. :/ ![]() |

Support! People responding to really old topics annoys me, because it's clear they're just responding because they want the contributor badge and not because they actually want to help. ![]() |

The other thing that occurs to me that could maybe be added, is that incorrect/unhelpful answers could be hidden (e.g. below a cut, kinda like how posts from players you block are hidden) once they get a certain amount or percentage of unhelpful votes. I’ve already seen so many posts today which have some pretty misleading answers, and it’s frustrating to need to keep trying to correct/clarify stuff (not all of which is even directly related to the original question) by saying 'actually...that thing xyz person said isn’t quite right' in case answers continue to cause confusion further down the line. Especially since it tends to get lost in all the replies anyway ![]() |

I believe that's the same as the third last point I currently have? If I'm misunderstanding I'd be happy to add it xD ![]() |

Haha yeah, I support. I love the new system personally but it could use a few minor tweaks. All your points here are really good. ![]() Edited on 02/03/18 @ 17:38:25 by Thalath💞 (#41669) |

Ordering is really bad right now, basically you can give the same answer that has been given 5 times already, get votes and get on top and then get more votes and its just.... Why even reply to something thats been answered already? It would help if these were ordered normally but the best answer could be green like yahoo or whatever else website does for questions and the rest could be marked as correct but repetitive. Also there are lots of just plain wrong answers, i really wish i could hit a report button for that, or something like "wrong answer", just don't get involved into something you're unsure about. And i like SUPER agree on the "age" restriction. ![]() |

@Anthrax Ya I totally agree, that's what I was thinking of with the 'spam' part of downvoting. Perhaps there could even be a separate button for mark as spam, especially for double posts? ![]() |

I like what Steam has... Helpful/Not Helpful options and the third one: Funny ;P We could mimic that but change "Funny" to "anoying" or "not needed" something like that. I also think that it should get moderator attention asap so they could remove misleading posts and maybe give out a warning. Maybe once you receive like 5 "misleading" warnings (should be checked by a moderator ofc) you wouldnt be able to post on help forums for a while. Anonymous posts so it wouldnt be a competition of "who has the most friends/haters" Cause right now its ridiculous ![]() Edited on 04/03/18 @ 13:05:19 by Anthrax (#93497) |

Not quite sure if this was mentioned, but I'd like to add on to locking a thread part. I think the OP should be able to lock their thread once the best answer is chosen. Also I think only the top/best answer should receive points as its the OP question that needs the answer. ![]() |
