Color
Pelt colors play an important role in Otterdog lives. It helps them distinguish between male and female. Females, on the other hand, tend to be dark colored, occasionally are dull colored and almost never brightly colored.

Diet
Otterdogs have a diet similar to a raccoon despite looking very otter-like. They scavenge around looking for anything they can eat and sometimes this gets them into trouble by eating something poisonous. If they can't find anything to satisfy their hunger they might walk right up to a human to beg for food, or just steal it if they have a particularly sneaky personality.

Otterdogs usually live calm and reserved lives, the most exciting thing for them could be finding a fellow Otterdog while wandering the forest. Romplife
A group of Otterdogs is called a romp. A romp usually consists of 2-5 males and as many females as the males can keep hanging around them. The males pamper the females and yes, they do pick favorites to mate with. The females try to impress the males when they are getting ready to choose a favorite. When the male isn't looking for a favorite he will either be spending all his time looking for shiny shells or even doing cool stunts in the water to keep the females interested or to convince new Otterdogs to join his romp.
