A referral code is only good for a single person, so in the situation you describe, the fastest guy gets it and everyone else gets nothing. So you actually have to post it both every week and every time it's used.

Tbh with the current system I've never even tried to post codes elsewhere online to get referral points - if I advertise the game or mention it to people I just leave out the referral bit, and forfeit my referral points. Single-use codes presumably helps prevent cheating and limits the amount of new players that can flood the game at any one time, but it’s really not the most practical system for referrers imo :(

Honestly, even if they did just renew every week to help keep ancient codes from floating around, it'd be more convenient. Both makes it near impossible to keep up with, so any person I've referred I've just done it without the code. At this point, I can get the referral rewards from the Enclave too, so the extra effort isn't worth it.

It is shocking to me that any website that's primary source of incoming traffic is referrals has a system set up like this.
Essentially it's inhibiting new players, new potential income, because any sort of mass advertisement through popular social media accounts or art pages, or any other common avenue is non-applicable at worst, and impractical to upkeep with new codes at best. I used to work in social media marketing, and and the complete lack of any sort of easy or free advertising blows my mind. This site is essentially only shared via word of mouth (or text), while it could be much more popular IMO. This is one of the better breeding SIMS on the market and it just needs a bit of exposure.

Bottom line is, Lioden is leaving players and money on the table which its current referral system. What site owner doesn't want consistent free advertising?

would it work with referral ID's like when someone signs up to the site they put the ID of the person that refereed them it would be a permanent code for each account and easy to remember since it's your ID and no need to generate any codes ^^

Exactly, just input the ID of the referrer. That's the system that many other sites use and it works out great

Support. Got a friend to join Lioden a while back, but their code didn't work (I was new myself, so I didn't know what was up or how to fix it), so they just went ahead and made their account without it. Think typing in the persons ID, or just having a single permanent code per person for them to hand out, would be easier.
