Hello! I decided to make this thread of an annoying issue I’ve been noticing. You ever made your own sales thread and you got someone trying to advertise their stuff on YOUR thread? I’ve seen this happen on sales threads and auction threads and it’s sooo annoying and it's rude!
Anyways, I think the owner of the thread should have the right to delete other people’s comments or at least kick people out of your thread!

After hearing others opinion to add to this idea there should be certain restrictions to this as well! When you request a comment to be deleted, it submits a ticket to the Modbox, where it can then be quickly scanned over and approved or denied right from the page, rather than the mod having to do a ton of work to get it dealt with the modders can check it out before actually deleting the comments but the comment you requested to be deleted could be invisible (just until the modders check it out and choose to delete it or not) just to avoid people being a troll & a spammer.

Please be respectful, If you don’t agree then please feel free to tell me why or how we can improve this idea! Otherwise anymore add on's would be appreciated!

This would also be useful for spam. Mobile users seem to have a lot of issues with posting messages sometimes, and I've had 4+ comments saying the same thing. Perhaps if you could delete your own comment, and the maker of the post can make it invisible?

I support so long as it's specifically related to the Sales section and perhaps the Clan section?

Otherwise, people will delete/make invisible things willy-nilly and that could cause a problem. For example, someone makes a suggestion and someone doesn't agree for good reasons. The OP can just make it invisible. That's not really right as people should be allowed to state their opinions so long as it isn't abusive or rude.

So, as long as it's restricted to certain forums and not just every single topic, I think it's a good idea. Might another idea be having them be able to make them invisible while requesting they be deleted? That way someone can't post...say something really nasty and then delete it if they're reported for such behavior? Both the OP of the thread and the OP of the post itself could make it invisible/request it be deleted? That way, the Mods can glance at it and make sure it's not being deleted to avoid getting into trouble or something similar?

I think that the post should be hidden, maybe remove the poster ID and everything and have it just say "Pending Approval" or something until a mod can get to it. It would then remove the threat of the post, whatever it may be, and also not be 'mean' to another user.

In response to more work- maybe it could just submit a ticket to the Modbox, where it can then be quickly scanned over and approved or denied right from the page, rather than the mod having to do a ton of work to get it dealt with. It may remove more of the work they have to do scrubbing a thread clean when a ticket is submitted for x y or z.

(Note: If someone already created a thread about this, I will delete!

Also being able to delete offers made on an auction post that has finished but you want to keep using the same post for future sales. It would help a lot with just organising

It may also be an added load for moderators to have to go around and deleting comments, as that might be a frequent thing to be requested. Maybe on certain forum sections, like the art sales, you aren't permitted to delete comments at all, whereas another section like the watering hole, can be deleted freely.

Or, the topic creator can choose whether or not comments can be deleted!

@Jess Yeah, the topic creator can choose whether or not comments can be deleted, but if they choose to delete comments the comment they choose will go invisible but not completely gone until the mods figure out if they wanna delete it or not! And I see, so like certain forums you can't delete comments?

I'm really on the fence about this, I think it'd be a good idea but I feel like it could be abused.

@AdeerableDoe I know ^^ That's why I'm getting any other ideas or opinions on how we can prevent it being abused :(

I've had people come and harass me on sales threads before. This was followed by them scamming me and then attacking my thread so that no one would purchase anything from there anymore. If I had been able to remove the posts before my entire customer base saw it all, it may have prevented the loss of my entire (lioden) income at the time

I think maybe the owner of the thread could press a "Request Deletion" button, and it they could choose why they'd like to have the post deleted. A mod can then review it and choose whether or not to delete it. But, this would just add more work for the mods, really.

@Adeerabledoe, I thought that was a good idea as well. Plus if someone was just requesting something for deletion that really shouldn't be deleted for example, (Someone got in an argument with you and trying to delete your comment or something) the modders could view the message and choose to delete or leave it be.) This is a big problem when it comes to sales threads :/ and I heard other threads as well. I'm even going through this problem as well :/

Ahh, I see @Razz. Submitting a ticket to the modders would be much easier for them I think, then going over each thread.
