Today while looking for some horse markings, I came across the Quagga Project. Basically, some scientists are selectively breeding Quagga-like zebras and reintroducing them into the quagga's old range. EDIT: I realized that this could potentially be simplified by being made a "scarce" zebra marking, not unlike scarce hyena stripes! Edit: Fixed the link to the article Edit 2: Fixed it for REAL I know we already HAVE quagga markings, but these selectively-bred zebras have different markings, and I think they'd made great markings for lions!
