a few months ago i made some rough concepts of what other firelords like apollyon could look like, because the july storyline had repeatedly alluded to there being many of them. one of them was the lioness from the explore encounters, because at the time i thought it'd be funny if apedemak was unknowingly flirting with one of his enemies. (nyota was a placeholder name because i don't know what her canon name was, or if she has one yet)



i always thought it would be interesting to have an event that expanded on the firelords. that's really all i have concretely on this suggestion, but some very loose ideas i've been tossing around on how to approach this possibly. i'm probably going to keep expanding on this:

there is a league of powerful firelords from distant lands. one of the most powerful and eminent in this league is a lion that is actively plotting to overthrow the rest of the league and possibly dominate the world. this rogue firelord is causing wildfires across the land, and is somehow harnessing the sun (apollyon mentions that all firelords praise the sun every day - is there a possibility that their powers are related to it?) to create the drought. the other firelords are either oblivious to this scheme and unwilling to believe that a respected member of their league could be fostering such a plot or be responsible for any of these actions, OR well aware of these plans and too lazy or dismissive of the danger or afraid to risk acting up against them. in either case this leaves nyota, one firelord who is determined to take the matter into her own paws if no one else is willing to.

a few days after a spontaneous fire sweeps through your territory (you and your pride manage to get to safety), you bump into nyota following in its tracks. she asks you if you've seen the rogue lion, and then eventually explains her situation, conceding that she could use some help. this lion will not be easy to take down alone.

the event could end on a climactic final battle with the rogue firelord, maybe on the last day or the last few days of the event, so that the potential defeat of the rogue firelord matches up nicely with the end of the drought period.

maybe it could involve tracking down other firelords who are willing to assist, or - if the more prominent firelords are entirely unwilling - maybe a scattered few chosen "outcast" firelords that live on the fringes and for one reason or another aren't part of the main league. maybe some were expelled for previous misconducts (though nyota probably won't want to deal with anyone too extreme) or split on their own accord. maybe you could form a ragtag band with 1 or 2 of these individuals and complete daily quests for them and nyota that reward you with event points and personal reputation for the respective member of your crew. the total reputation you've accumulated with each of them at the end could affect their actions and therefore the outcome of the final battle storywise - ex., one of them might desert the group if your reputation with them isn't high enough, or even betray you if it's at 0.

i'm mostly just going over ideas though - i'd love to hear suggestions!
