Okay, wow, some shit's gone down since I last looked at this thread... I had to have my two cents.

The base was simply inspired by the palette from the trans flag. It's not intended to /be/ trans-related in nature; it can be a symbol of that if you want to take it that way, and it doesn't inherently have to be. It's neither meant to force trans stuff into the game nor be exactly like the palette (that might be too bright).

Not that I'm trying to start an argument, but the OP does state in the original post, under the "EDIT" portion, that they wish to keep the overall meaning of the base. Which means yes, it is exactly as it was said. It would still be trans-related, and is 100% meant to be so.

I still don't personally have a problem with trans-related things. I just think that on LioDen, it might be a bit much.

Lioden does not have to take on the base-maker's intentions as their own, however, if they wish to add a base in, and don't have to say anything about the maker's intent at all.
Yes, the person did say that. I'd like to point out that no catastrophic events occurred after the release of the pride accents, even if the intent were to be kept.

i like the base. i like the meaning behind it. i think it should be added in. i DONT think that if someone is bitter about a certain base being added, then we shouldnt add that base. see cause, if we didnt add in bases because a few people got upset about them or the idea behind them, then guess what! we would have no bases. adding in this base would upset mostly cis people, it seems? cis people have dominated history but god FORBID we dont give them a shoutout before literally anyone else. fuck.

alternatively: rather than a base, a set of markings. the colors could be adjusted for various common pride flags

This is exactly why, if pink, blue, and white cannot be separated from tras-ness, I do not want this added. Why can't I be trans and also disagree with the addition of this base?

What if *other non-gender related issue* crops up? Many of them have been mentioned in this thread and I'm coming to believe more and more that they will occur the more people come in here and mock a different gender identity.

This is a terrible idea because so many people cannot separate gender identity from pretty colors.

If this was added all sexualities and identities would have to be added for equality.

It is also a lion simulator pet game. Lioden itself is a company and shouldn’t align themselves to certain political agreements.
LGBT pride is everywhere, just not in a base.

If someone was to cover this base up with all feline marks, no doubt someone would get offended.

Lioden doesn’t need that, we’re already a fighty-bitey community as it is.

Yes but we had a wide selection of them.
They cannot add a singular trans base as the community would see that as unfair and request to be represented in a base.

The feathers had no real game changing effects as they were a decor, this is a base.

Again, people would want representation and be upset when they don’t receive this. It’s not Lioden’s responsibility to represent LGBT and we should be grateful that they released pride decor.

Also, it wouldn’t surprise me that if something like this was released people would get upset by people that did not like the base. People enjoy throwing ___phobic around on a whim.

Alas I think the base is really ugly, but that comes down to personal aesthetics.

To clarify my thoughts :

Everyone would have to be represented in a base

People will get upset by people covering it / disliking the base

Lioden is a company that really shouldn’t be included in the gender/identity/sexuality debate

Everything Lioden has released in terms of LGBT related has been vague, like encounters and the pride feathers decor are not blatantly obvious, at face value they can be seen as pretty feathers for your lion and the same sex romantically implied npc’s are all up to personal perspectives

Tbh I have said that exact same thing to so many other gender/sexuality/identity suggestions.

its not necessary for everything to display sexuality and gender communities in Lioden because they decided to do one nice thing for the community by implementing pride feathers. Most game communities wouldn't even do that. Like Dino said, they keep it all vague as possible too.


If you want to suggest a new base or something, sure go ahead if its cool to me then Ill support, but the second the creator says its tied to a gender/sexuality community I'm immediately put off. Not because I dont support them, but because we dont need to bring this into a Lion Sim game.

Yes, I've seen people throw ___phobic around when people disagree on completely unrelated terms. It's never been anything but old. Just because we don't agree with something doesn't make us hate everyone and everything that has to do with what you stand for. That's just how it is.

But also, I'd like to go back and reference the OP.

This is the wish of the creator, and though many people have stated that it could possibly be renamed or not have to do with the Trans Pride at all... Guess what'll happen then?

For one, they'll certainly link the announcement back to this forum. People will see the inspiration. People might get very, very upset that they kept out the original inspiration or possibly renamed the base.

I'd rather respect the OP's wish to either keep the original inspiration or not accept it at all. That way, if it was changed, we wouldn't have to deal with the chaos that would follow after.
