Species features:
-In general, the primal African wild dogs are bulkier than the lean AWDs you see today. This is because back then they relied on strength to bring down bigger and slower pray, so speed wasn't a necessity like it is now. Along with bulkier more wolf like bodies, the have longer teeth, similar to the saber tooth cat.
-Just like today, they hunt in large packs consisting of both males and females. Their great intellect, tracking skills, and communication, makes these primal African wild dogs successful in difficult hunts.
-Packs consist of an alpha male and female in which their main purpose is to lead the pack in hunts, and keep them safe. These creatures depend heavily on healthy and strong relationships with all members.
-Females: Females have smaller canine teeth as well as slightly smaller bodies than the males, this benefits in the raising of pups.
-Males: Males have longer canine teeth and much bulkier bodies in order to take down bigger pray. The males also have a small ridge of fur down their backs and between their shoulders, providing not only an extra chunk of fat when fights break out between males, as well as make them selves look larger.
