I couldn’t find another/similar suggestion so I went ahead and posted this.

Mockups, by Pallon (#109448) ;)

(Images are clickable. Technically this is a full albino kitten, but its an example of what the eyes might look like.

I know we already have eye mutations but... why not one more! Ocular Albinism is simply another form of Albinism, except affecting just the eyes. It lessens the amount of pigment in the iris (colored part of the eye). In many cases the eyes are at least slightly crossed or uncontrolled rapid eye movement can occur. Ocular Albinism differs from regular Albinism in the fact that the skin and hair aren’t affected, just the eyes.

Lethal?
No.

Appearance at birth?
Yes. Those with cub stages it would obviously show up after the newborn stage. But it would still be listed at birth.

Affected Gameplay?
Not sure. Those with this mutation tend to have a sensitivity to light, not to mention the possibility of crossed eyes or rapid eye movements. For lionesses, I’m not sure if this would affect their ability to hunt or if a lion could be crowned as king. Opinions most wanted!

The Mutations name?
The proper name is Ocular Albinism but seems Lioden has Achromia lions I thought maybe Achromatic Eyes would fit better?? Opinions once more wanted!

Lioden has an eye colour that makes the eyes albinoid. How would the mutation differ from the eye colour?
An excellent question from a user. Perhaps the same way that the Albino Base and Achromia mutation differ. They are similar. Perhaps the eyes can have a different shade. I noticed that the Achromia lions eyes are super bright. Maybe they could be that, except without the rest of the lion being Achromatic. If that makes sense.

OOH!
Perhaps it could be a variation of Achromia, much how the new Primal Fangs comes from the Primal mutations? It would make yucky Achromias a bit more fun.

**Opinions in general are more than welcome! If you disagree, its no big deal. Feel free to voice why! I’m a big girl. Everyone has opinions and you won’t find me throwing a fit over it. ;)**

Gabriel (#136725) - “For the huntresses, why not have it so they hunt worse in the daytime but better at nighttime? Even cats have limited ability to see into the darkness - but sensitivity to light could help. Maybe a 25% bonus chance of good carcass at night but 25% less in the daytime”

This suggestion has 200 supports and 10 NO supports.

Andy, it appears to have a clear white layer over the eye

So they'd look like the achromia eyes?

I like this idea. I would guess that anything that effects the eye's ability to function would effect and animals ability to hunt, so I imagine that the mutation would lessen a lioness's success rate at hunting, even if it didn't preclude her from hunting entirely. Not sure how much difference it would make in a king's abilities, since in game play, I'm not sure how realistic his role is. He doesn't TECHNICALLY defend territory so in theory he has no need to fight another lion. He only needs to Explore and fight in fights we control and breed. Unless I'm missing something, I see no reason why Ocular Albinism would affect a king's ability to rule. In any case, I like the idea and would like to see this show up in gameplay

EDIT: Or maybe add it as a feature of the current achromia mutation?

Andy - Yep! Or perhaps a different shade. I’m not sure if maybe we’d want a more purple shade to them?

ShihTzuLady - love the idea! I can definitely see it being a variation of regular Achromia. Much how Primals can create Felis and Smilus.

Andy - Sure!

I like this idea...but considering it can cause Nystagmus & that Nystagmus has it's own difficulties...there's SO much more depth to the possibilities here. :)

Maybe the lionesses or sub males could have a higher chance of failing their hunts due to being in pain? Just a thought.

Like maybe the huntresses get less EXP from hunting? Lower chances and stuff?

Of course! How am I supposed to hunt when I can barely look at the broad daylight?

It might even cause partial blindness and a hyper-sensitivity to light.

I really love coming across mutation ideas where it doesn't have to be this big change and I love the little details like this mutation would bring to the game. Support!
