 Aqua's Tiered Art Contest 
Introduction
Hey guys! This is my third art contest on Lioden, and definitely one of my largest - and only bound to get larger! I have a few characters, and possibly a couple ships or scenes that I want you guys to draw.
But not without compensation of course, oh no. In this contest, the more you draw, and the more entries there are, the more tiers that are unlocked - and the number, and value, of the prizes are increased.
I've saved up a while to finally get this contest going (after coming back from my hiatus and finally getting enough to feed my Pride.... smh...) and I'm so happy to finally be presenting it to you! But no reason to bore you with a long introduction, so lets jump straight into the rules, characters, and prizes.

So, if this all goes fine and dandy, the winner could end up racking up 15 , Chatoyant Carvings, Unlimited Studdings to a PIEBALD, and a Royal Coat of Bast applicator. What could beat that? The competition must be getting heated.... "but," you ask, "exactly WHAT must we compete with?" Well, that's where my characters come in. But first, I just want to lay down some basic rules, y'know?
Rules
Yeah, I know, rules are quite boring. But they are necessary for a functioning and stable society, as dictated by the English lexicon... ahem, I mean, they're kind of needed for an art contest. Let's get straight into those, shall we?
- Please stick with the character's designs. Little changes relating to your style are allowed (i.e. adding extra fur, different ways to draw wings, sizes, etc), but if a character is purple, don't make them green. Stuff like that!
- Gore is allowed. I like gore, especially candy gore. But don't go overboard, alright? If it's a death scene, make it look like a death scene, not a mutilation.
- NSFW is not allowed and will not be tolerated. Please do not draw anything sexually suggestive, either. I am asexual and it would make me extremely uncomfortable to have my characters draw in such a way, so please don't....
- Please do NOT claim my characters as your own. These characters are my creations and I will not tolerate them being stolen in any form.
- Do NOT, and I repeat, because this has happened in both of my contests, please do NOT use a base to make an entry. Unless you are 100% drawing the entry yourself, do not enter this contest. No previously created lineart or bases - especially without credit - are not tolerated. You WILL be disqualified.
- I will add more rules as I see fit, so keep checking back! If anything major happens, I'll notify everyone, but that's highly unlikely.
God, I hope that didn't sound too harsh. I didn't mean it too. I don't bite hard, please, I'm a bean.... A badass bean. I love you, but don't mess with me. Got it? Good. UwU.
Story
Now on to the super fun part - for me at least! I have a few characters I'd like you to draw, and they've been my OC's since I was 12.... So yeah, a long time. These characters have a very special place in my heart, so I always love getting art of them. So this is a very special contest for me... please see it as such! I love these characters, and their stories, so I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Here's a little bit of the story and how the characters are intertwined: Amethyst was born a real-bred, meaning that she had parents. In the world she lives in, Protectors (cats who represents each gemstone) are just supposed to be spawned, and all look the same with color variations. Since she had real parents, she was born with a mutation, which was her wings. She is looked harshly down on because of it and is quite depressed and angry because of it. She had a sister named Amber, who died in a fire when she was very young. She was so young she doesn't remember her, and later in her life Amber serves as a guardian angel and helps Amethyst through her life, never telling her they're related.
Emerald, an older Protector, fell in love with a cat named Xochtil when she was younger. She knew it was forbidden, but she loved him and eventually had a litter of four kits. Knowing what she had done, she slowly spiraled into insanity and one day while Xochtil was off, attempted to murder all of her kits. She only successfully murdered two of them, Victory and Hope. Her sons Neo and Topaz (born a real-bred Protector) survived. Xochtil came back as they were being murdered. Topaz was covered in the blood of his siblings, so he mistook him for dead and saved Neo, running off. Topaz grew up as Amethyst was growing up too, so they're around the same age. He scorns his mother and family but never tells anyone about them, keeping everything a secret.
Determined to kill her remaining kits, starting with Topaz, Emerald goes to Amethyst (the only cat she figures to even moderately be friends with him, although they weren't) and begs her to meet her at a specified location - quite far away - with Topaz. Amethyst thought it was an odd request and refused, which then caused Emerald to threaten death. Amethyst finally agreed, not knowing Emerald's true intentions or that the two were even related.
Amethyst goes to her parents, Garnet and Peridot, and convinces them to come on the journey with her because she doesn't trust Emerald. The two had been raising a kit at the time, a Protector named Pearl (who wasn't, fortunately, their biological daughter) and take her along. They eventually find Topaz and Amethyst lies to him, saying she's on a journey to find something and needs him to tag along for company with her family. He questions it a bit, but eventually comes along, Emerald not even being mentioned.
The cats all journey together. Topaz's dead brother and sister haunt him, and Amethyst's sister haunts her. A little while into the journey, Amethyst finds herself slowly liking Topaz, but does everything she can to hide it. Unbeknownst to her, he feels the same. About halfway through the journey, they meet a pet cat named Lux, who offers to help them get where they're going. She's young and fluffy and - well, a pet - and very flirtatious towards Topaz. Amethyst finds herself increasingly getting angrier and angrier at Lux, eventually chasing her off one night but not telling anyone she did so. Everyone just assumes she left on her own accord (this is a few months into the journey, so Lux was with them a while). A little while later, the group comes across a cat named Rowan who's tagging along with a few other rogue cats. In an effort to make Topaz jealous (out of leftover anger from Lux) she starts acting like she likes Rowan and starts ignoring Topaz more. Topaz is hurt and doesn't understand where it's coming from. Eventually, the group comes across the place where Rowan desired to go, and he leaves them to live there. The charade is over for Amethyst, but things are tense between her and Topaz.
(I'm going to skip over a little bit of the story to get to the end.)
After finding and rescuing a group of lost Protectors called the Broken, as well as finding Topaz's living brother and father (and having a tense, yet eventually welcoming reunion) Amethyst and her group bring them to the spot where Emerald wanted Topaz. When Emerald got word that the Broken were coming to fight, she started gathering cats on her side, and got a considerable number of followers, including some swayed members of the Broken. Another cat she had managed to sway onto her side was poor, heartbroken Lux.
When Emerald reveals that her plot is to kill Topaz, Amethyst is remorseful and Topaz felt like he was betrayed, and horrified. When Lux learns what's about to go down, she jumps in front of Topaz as Emerald lunges for him - instead, she lunges for Lux's throat on accident, murdering her in cold blood. Amethyst forgives her as she is dying and apologizes for acting horribly towards her, and in return, Lux gives her the rose that she kept pinned to her collar from her previous owners.
That's where I'm going to end this for now. I think you have enough material to draw really whatever you want now, don't you? Romance, murder, angst... whatever you want. It's all there!

She is a white cat with a purple tail-tip and a purple blaze. She has feathery violet wings and green eyes. Her necklace has an amethyst stone on it, to represent her name. It's a very basic design.
She's fickle, sometimes happy, and sometimes really furious or crestfallen. She get's discouraged and encouraged easily, but is very opinionated and not willing to give an inch usually. She's in love with Topaz, although she forces herself not to focus on her emotions and rather on the journey at hand, which usually gets her with a lot of pent up emotions that no one knows about.

He is a golden-ish yellow cat with darker tabby stripes. He has lighter paws, a lighter muzzle, a lighter tail-tip, a lighter muzzle, and a lighter stomach. His eyes are amber and his necklace has a topaz stone on it which is the yellow mingled with blue (look up topaz gemstone for reference). He is generally a laid back cat and considered to be the peacemaker of the group. Although he is quite quite, he is kind and willing to help anyone out, even trying to see the good in anyone. He has a nonchalant demeanor to him, since he learned that you can't control everything in life, but when he has ambitions, he is willing to work for them. He is willing to accept Amethyst for who she is and wants to help her through her journey, realizing what it really means for him.

Lux has one of the more complicated designs. She's black with white dapples on her back and several white markings. More specifically, She has blue eyes and half her face is white with three black dots under her eyes, and the other half is black with three white dots under her eyes. Her tail is banded black and white with a white tailtip, and her legs as black and white banded with white paws. The rest of her is spotted. The ear on the white side of her face is black and the black side of her face has a white ear. Look at the photo for a better reference. Her collar is light blue with a golden heart charm on it, and she also has a (this is different from the photo, so keep this in mind) a tattered faux rose her owners gave her pinned to her collar. Lux is a very girly and bubbly she-cat, and is also very flirtatious. She is also quite dense and her common sense is lacking, since she lived as a pet for the majority of her life.
Emerald

Emerald is a white cat with the same markings as Amethyst - she has a dark-green blaze and tail-tip. Her necklace has an emerald stone on it, but it is chipped unlike the other's necklaces. She has scars on her ears, showing how she often gets into fights. Her eyes are the same green as everything else. She went insane soon after she had her kits, and is out for blood. She does not take others into account, and doesn't care who's lives she drags into her own bloodthirsty mess. She feels no remorse and thinks nothing of her murder, and only seeks for revenge for her deeds and nothing else. She thinks of herself as a monster for loving and birthing, so she seeks to overturn her actions through killing.
For the descriptions of Rowan, Garnet, Peridot, Amber, Neo, Hope, Victory, or any other characters I forgot to mention, just ask and I'll write them up!
FAQ
How many entries can I make?
As many as you wish, there's no limit!
Should I make a scene or just draw a character?
Either or! Do whatever your heart desires, it all is wonderful regardless!
What's the deadline?
This is quite a long contest, so the end of August is actually the deadline. That should give you plenty of time!
Where's this so called "journey"?
It's in a forest for the majority of the time. A little after they find Lux, Amethyst, Topaz, and Lux break off from Garnet, Peridot, and Pearl in order to travel through a city.
Can I draw ship art?
OF COURSE! Any and all ship art is cool with me, as long as it's SFW!
