Just to clear things up, I don't hate the albino base or believe it should be deleted! This item would be optional! And albinos can still be bred from albino parents! This isn't hating on the base, just an optional breeding item to prevent it from popping up randomly!

Albino bases, depending on who you are, can be cute and pretty or incredibly and inexcusably annoying! They pop up randomly no matter what bases you're breeding, there's no telling when it's going to happen, and there's nothing you can do to control it!

Well I'm here with an idea to change that!

I think there should be a breeding item we can obtain that'll stop the lioness it's fed to from producing random albino cubs. Now, I can't say that I'm very good with pricing but I feel like the item itself should be relatively cheap and obtainable. This is because you never know when your lioness might produce albino cubs, and for those trying to breed rare bases, it doesn't exactly INCREASE the chance of that rare base coming up, it just allows for another chance for that base to show instead of an albino being there.

I think maybe it could be sold the same as Cotton Root Bark from the Oasis at 1GB a pop, or it could be in Monkey Business for however much SB (500-1500sb sounds about okay), or it could be in the Gorilla Enclave, or maybe even just be a cheap event item, but I do think it should be relatively obtainable because it isn't exactly game breaking and you can't predict when an albino cub will be born, you can only prepare for that to not happen with this item.

For what the item could be, there's a berry called 'Pollia Condensata', it is an African fruit which is known to be the 'brightest' fruit in nature but doesn't use pigment to achieve it's colour and it's shade doesn't fade even after a century. They look something like this:

Single Berry

Berry Bunch

A situation in which I see someone using this item is if they're trying to breed for a specific base or specific genetics. For example, someone is trying to breed the Anjeer base, so they're breeding two Red Medium Countershaded Special lions together. The person feeds this item to the lion/lioness (whatever would make more sense, I think the lioness) then breeds them and when they give birth, they have x amount of cubs, none of which are albino.

Just as a little disclaimer, albino is a base and achromia is a mutation. This item is to stop the chance of the base appearing, not the mutation.

This is an item that very much could use an outsider's look to improve on it, so please suggest any changes!

Update: Possible Exploits and/or Confusions and their fixes

This section is just to clear up any possible rumors, exploits or confusions for if this item ever DID come into the game, as I imagine people would get rather confused by some aspects of it.

Exploit: People could try breeding Albino x Albino pairs and using the item to try and get other bases out of it. Same goes with breeding for example an Anjeer x Albino pair then using the item to only get red bases out of it, thus using a cheap alternative to Red x Red breeding pairs.

Solution: This item would only be getting rid of the random chance for Albinos to appear. If you breed an Albino x Albino pair then of course you will get Albino cubs even if you use the item. Same for Any x Albino pairs. This item does not prevent Albinos universally, just the 2-4% chance of them randomly appearing.

Confusion: People breeding black light bases or black medium and still getting an albino even if they used the item.

Solution: Again this item only prevents random Albinos from appearing. Breeding two black light bases, for example Clear White x Cairngorm, will still have a chance of producing an Albino just in the same way that breeding Cinnabar x Orchid might produce a Sapela. This item is more to prevent Albinos from appearing if you breed Red x Red or Cream x Cream or Golden x Golden. Albinos will always be a chance in Black Light/Medium breedings.

I would prefer them to just adjust the pass rate to 0.5%... its currently pops up at 2-4%.

But if this item is also added even with the rate changed, it should be sold for 250sb-500sb. 1 gb to prevent one rare base from popping is way too much. I prefer taking the risk of an albino then pay 1 GB and get other crap bases instead of the albino. Item for passing skin and eye color are affordable and sold for SB.

If you remove the albino base you still have an 70-80% chance of getting a common base.

@Zizi // I agree! I think seeing as this is an item that ONLY guarantees no random albinos, NOT what base will come up in it's place or if there were even any random albinos in your litter to begin with, it should be affordable and available year-round. 300sb on average sounds about a good price!

Support! I absolutely love this idea rather than lowering the pass rates. When I'm breeding for a specific base, I usually like the fail bases too, but I've never liked getting albino. This would solve the issue nicely.

Also I love the berries you chose for this, how cute! :D

Yesss OMG! I have been trying to breed black and red bases, but recently I keep getting these darn albino based cubs!(They're pretty marking wise, but still) A friend and I bred 2 interstellar lions together, my king, and her dwarf.. and the only bean that came out of the litter was a darn albino based potato >:[ Ugh it's so frustrating when you breed for something and boom, trolled by the cursed albino base.

The whole point of albino is that it appears randomly :l

I'm personally saying no. not sharing reasons bc I don't wanna be bashed lol

I agree with birb tho. genetics in the wild are random too, from a white and black parent in the animal kingdom can maybe pop out a brown offspring.

Don't worry! You won't get bashed for sharing your non-support, this is a suggestion thread!

Again I'll repeat that this isn't anything against the base and how it works and the item would be optional for those that perhaps don't want random albinos appearing in certain breedings. As of right now, albino is the only base with this "random" mechanic but I think it's fair for some players to have the option to not want that mechanic in certain litters! Much like how you don't have to use an opal saltlick if you like the randomness of the eye mechanics and the possible fail colours they give!
