Labyrinth has a fairly massive, but short torso set on long legs. Her hind legs are significantly shorter than her forelimbs, giving her the typical sloping back of all hyenas. Her legs are relatively thin and weak, with an obvious bend in her wrist. Her neck is thick, long and largely immobile, while her head is heavy and massive with a shortened facial region. Her eyes are relatively small, while her rounded ears are very large, broad and set high on the head. Like all hyenas, Labyrinth has bulky pads on her paws, as well as blunt but powerful claws. Her tail is short and the terminal hairs do not descend below her achilles tendon.

Her winter coat is unusually long and uniform for an animal her size, with a luxuriant mane of tough, long hairs along the back from her skull to the base of her tail. Her coat is generally coarse and bristly, though this varies according to season. In winter, her coat is fairly dense, soft, and has well-developed underfur. In summer, her coat is much shorter and coarser, and lacks underfur, though her mane remains large. In winter, her coat is usually of a dirty-brownish grey or dirty gray color. The hairs of her mane are light grey or white at the base, and black or dark brown at the tips. The fur at her muzzle is dark, greyish brown, brownish-grey or black, while the top of the head and cheeks are more lightly colored. Her ears are almost black. A large black spot is present on the front of her neck, and is separated from her chin by a patch of lighter fur. A patch of dark fur stretches from her flanks to the rear of her cheeks. The inner and outer surface of her forelegs are covered with small dark spots and transverse stripes. Her flanks have four indistinct dark vertical stripes and rows of diffused spots. The outer surface of her thighs has 3-4 distinct vertical or oblique dark bands which merge into transverse stripes in the lower portion of her legs. The tip of her tail is black with white underfur.

Just as her name suggests, Labyrinth has a myriad of personality traits, some of them contradictory. She is multi-faceted and cannot be described in one word, or even one paragraph. To start, Labyrinth isn't too fond of strangers. She is not rude, however she is not friendly to those she does not know. Often times, she will not acknowledge those who are new to her, acting as if they do not exist at all. However, she will watch them closely, trying to determine their intentions and whether or not she should allow them to get closer to her. If she deems the newcomer worthy, she will begin to speak to them, usually simply answering questions directly aimed at her. Labyrinth figures that if that person can tolerate her short responses long enough to actually get to know her, then they must be alright.

However, once she considers someone her friend, Labyrinth's demeanor changes drastically. With her friends, Labyrinth is over-the-top and easily excitable. She still doesn't speak much, but her body language makes it obvious that her opinion of that person has changed. As well as being incredibly friendly, this hyena is also very protective of her friends and relatives. She will not hesitate to throw herself into battle to protect their safety. In such battles, Labyrinth is nearly unstoppable, her fury driving her through the most painful of her injuries.

When she is alone, Labyrinth's personality changes once again. Labyrinth hates total silence, and will do any number of things to break it, most often chattering softly to herself. She also enjoys playing with her food when she's caught it by herself, tearing into it with her powerful jaws and tossing it over her shoulder. Another of her favorite things to do is to collect lose feathers and fashion them into a pup-sized bed of sorts. She never uses this bed, and has never told anyone why she does this, however she is incredibly possessive of these small beds whenever she has enough feathers to make them.

So, in short, Labyrinth loves others, but she doesn't. She hates to be alone, but she doesn't like crowds. She also has a very impressive temper, although this is not unusual of a hyena.

Labyrinth was born to the leader of a hyena clan, making her a princess of sorts. Because of her mother's high rank, the little cub was allowed special preferences, such as eating before the other members and getting the best portions of the kills. However, she was also constantly fighting with her sisters to keep her position as top cub. Things continued on like this for a few years until one night her mother was killed by a well-placed lion paw. Suddenly the clan was plunged into chaos, and Labyrinth's life of luxury was over. Now she was chased away from meals, and constantly snapped at. It seemed her rank was not a cemented as she'd originally thought.

A couple of weeks after her mother's death, after losing her claw in a spat over food, Labyrinth was on her own. Life was suddenly much harder for the young female, and she began to slowly starve. Finally one day, she was lucky enough to stumble across a young wildebeest that was trapped in thick, heavy mud. With a cry of glee, the hyena female flung herself at it, eating her first meal in weeks. She gorged herself before dragging her engorged body to a nearby badger den and curling up to sleep. She survived for years this way until she finally started her own clan. She has been the matriarch of this clan since its inception.

Description
Kolben is a larger then average male, making him roughly the same size as a small female. He has quite a few scars on his rump and legs from just being a male but his most prominent one is a crescent shape on his right cheek underneath his eye. He's also missing half an inch of the top of his tail but it's hardly noticeable unless he's flagging his tail. While his legs are darker due to the thinning fur all hyenas have, they're not black like some. The only black he has besides his spots are on his muzzle.

Personality
A cunning male, Kolben often prefers to outsmart his opponents rather then using his brawn. That's not to say he doesn't throw his weight around with other males when needed but he'll often use the environment, females, or other animals to get them in trouble and weakened first.

Koben prefers to spend all his time in the company of high ranking females, when they allow it, and spends very little time with low ranking females and other males. His devotion is highest with matriarchs and he will join them in any fight. The devotion to the rest of the clan is at a sliding scale. With males, he'll never join their fights unless the queen or a princess does. Koben will often even just sit back and watch the male, finding it entertaining to see them meet their doom. He might join the fights of low-ranking females but will quickly abandon them should the odds be in the favor of the opponent.

Like a typical hyena male, he'll take any chance he can to breed but will not take part in raising cubs, even if the females let him. Kolben often will not even hang around the main den when there are young cubs so will not get to know them until they're ready to go out on hunts and fights.

History
Koben was born the matriarch of another clan, which accounts for his larger size and dominant personality. However, he ended up being too closely related to the females in that clan, causing him to strike out on his own when he became sexually mature. He has been on his own since then.

Ici is an averaged sized hyena weighing approximately 130lbs and standing 31in tall. Her course fur is dotted with exceptionally dark spots that have yet to begin fading but lacks the dark legs many of her Clanmates adorn. The thin fur around her face takes on a more grayish than black color making her dark brown eyes appear even darker to others. Her tail is for the most part black which is stark against her golden-tawny fur. Ici's pelage contains far more golden-tawny hairs than gray, especially her mane. The golden mane is a trait her dam's side of the family blessed her with, and Ici wears it proudly. Her hindquarters are fairly darker than the rest of her body, her hind legs being the second darkest part of her body.

Ici's thick pelt hides many scars she has obtained through her struggle to keep her high ranking place. Most notably is a scar along her blunt muzzle that splits her lip on the left side of her face.

Ici is proud of the golden hairs that make up her mane that stands out from the rest of the Clan aside from her kin and is an easy marker of locating kin from a great distance. The split lip, a battle wound, is also another key trait that lets others identify Ici quickly.

perѕonalιтy
Ici is a sly but coy hyena. As alluring as her personality can be, Ici uses others to her advantage. She is quick to make friends but struggles at keeping them, with her main goal in life is to keep fighting her way up the ranks until she is living a comfortable life either as matriarch or beside the matriarch. Ici has not a single motherly bone in her body and has resisted every desire to find a mate. She fears that having cubs will slow down her progression upwards and with her youth is confident that when she reaches a comfortable position in the Clan she will find time to raise cubs. With her driving ambition, Ici is unlikely to grow close to others let alone trust them. The only other hyenas she puts a decent amount of trust in is her kin, and even then she does not trust her kin fully.

When it comes to hunts or battles Ici is more of a thinker than a fighter. She is skillful at planning ahead and directing others, but in the heat of the moment struggles to share her skill. When Ici tries to use these skills for her own wellbeing she finds that often she spends too much time thinking and by the time she is ready to act has missed her oppurtunity. The only time this skill can be effective is when she is the leading or helping to lead a hunt in a small group.

Ici and her sister Tek joined the Clan in it's youngest stages of development. While not the first hyenas to join up with Labyrinth, they joined as youngsters with their dam who had fled a warring Clan. Unlike their cowardly mother, however, when the threat of lions and men fell upon Labyrinth's Clan, they stayed behind for two different reasons while their mother fled to find another Clan. Ici's reasoning was because she had scored herself a high ranking position alongside her sister and had an idea of a way to climb higher in the ranks.

The only kin Ici has still left in Labyrinth's Clan is her littermate Tek. Her mother, a former member of the Clan, fled when the threat of war hung over the Clan. Ici thinks little of her mother and refuses to talk to anyone about their prior relationship or the hyena herself.

With dun fur and faded spots, the only similarities Tek bears of her kin is the classic golden mane. Her face is dark and she adorns a bluish-gray nose and deep brown eyes. The spots along her grayish-brown coat have faded significantly but for what lacks in color along her course fur she makes up for on her points. Her legs and tail are as black as her face as well as a black spot on either side of her broad face. She stands at 30in at the shoulder and weighs 126lbs making her a victim of peckish bullying from her littermate Ici. Her ears are a bit more shaply and sharp than most other hyenas and her maw holds a slight underbite that is barely noticeable.

Tek is a very quiet and mean hyena. She acts hastily and bitterly and bears no friendships with others. Tek is a solitary character that only participates in hunts when necessary and sticks with the Clan for sheer protection. Seldom does this hyena seem to be in a good mood. Her constant hatred makes Tek very tired, however, and she spends a lot of time sleeping. While she has the fury to move up in the ranks and battle skill, Tek lacks the ambition and only is really seen as a threat by others if she is messed with. Tek has only moved up through the ranks to be closer to her sister but never seems to find the need to surpass Ici in rank. The softest side Tek has to her is around cubs. While still not chatty, she appears to be much kinder and gentler with cubs, and bears no ill will on them.

Tek was born in another Clan and joined with her mother and sister in the beginnings of her current Clan. She stayed in the Clan when her mother fled because of her sister.
