So we have the super lovey dovey colors like Ardor, Mankabir, Cherry Blossom, and Fuschia. Those are nice and all, but what of those of us with darker tastes that still want to look pretty?

Why Nightshade?

Aside from being one of my favorite flowers, members of the nightshade family are incredibly varied from pansies to tomatoes to potatoes. Also included are the Datura flowers, Belladonna, eggplants... the list really does go on

Deadly Nightshade is also known for its powerful poisons, historically used in assassinations and changing the face of the world.


Why purple?

The berries of most nightshade plants (which are the most potent part of the plant) tend to be a reddish purple or very close to black when ripe. I chose to highlight both the berry and the nightshade flower in this design.

Also, I really, really like purple.
