I thought how cool would it be if we were able to click and drag decors the same way you do in dress-up games! This way, a lot of official lioden decors would be able to fit onto mutated lions, and some decors can be arranged and moved around to give a more unique look to individual lions' looks.

Some examples where this could be useful:

xgxNsHO.png

If Snowball here could be moved down, this dwarf wouldn't be so lonely!

e8D2jMA.png

If only this sarong could be shifted down a little! This poor extra-limbs cub wouldn't be so cold and naked! Oh, the embarrassment of nudity!!

Mabm5kG.png

Someone needs to teach this camera-hogger a lesson! Move over and share the attention!

Uyig8Pt.png

This poor dwarf can't put his beautiful new flowercrown on his head! He paid a lot of sb for that flowercrown, and Monkey doesn't do returns!

Now I'm no coder, so I don't pretend to know how easy or hard something like this is to add in. And I'm fully aware that this wouldn't work for EVERY decor, but this is still a fix for a LOT of the decor, and could be used outside of fixing things for mutations too. Some people might want to move around their decors just to make a new scene, like a flower growing out of a pile of skulls, or a wolf pup playing with a pet rock.

How I imagine this'd work is there'd be a button to "Adjust" the decors, you'd get taken to a screen much like the Wardrobe where you could drag them into place, then "Save" the layout, and that's what shows when you load up your lion's page. If it's easier, it could be more of a snapshot of what you've saved rather than loading the individual lion + moved decors.

If you don't support, let me know why! And if you have any other suggestions/additions feel free to suggest them! <3

This suggestion has 257 supports and 7 NO supports.

Oh! I understand now. Guess it wouldn't hurt to be able to fix decors around so they would fit properly. Support!

Im afraid it might not be possible to implement with the way Lioden images are coded. Lioden doesnt save images on server, each lion is always "built" anew with each page load - all the images for each marking, lineart, and decor are layered over one another to create the full image. It just uses basic images for each part to put it together directly on page, it saves server space and load that way. All images are strictly set size, 640 x 500, and depend on it to overlay properly. To make it possible to move those hard set layers around AND save their position on page, it would require no less than re-writing the entire code for lion and decor display system.

I get that completely, I was worried it'd be an issue. That's why I offered up the sort of "snapshot" thing, I don't code so I have no idea how easy/hard/possible it'd be but if it did take you to a new window, you sorted around the decors, then when you "saved" it somehow flattened those layers down into a single layered image, then loads that on the background to display the lion, kind of like how you'd use a jellyfish decor to put a decor where a hidden lion would be. Would anything like that work?

The snapshot is worse than the giant coding project Im afraid! They defy the very reason why Lioden image system is coded the way it is - to save server space.
Each and every saved snapshot would take server space. Space that is already tight, because Lioden is a GIANT site with a lot of files - even with the extremely costly servers already (I think Xylax said it was like 600$ per month already that Lioden pays for servers!) we get lag, what would happen if saved imaged added to it?
No, the snapshot idea I fear is even worse.((

Ahh, sucks :( So is there no possibility for this to work? Or if you have any suggestions for a work-around I'd love to hear them!

Also does the same thing apply to CDs too then?

I dont have any ideas how this could feasibly work sadly.(( The only real way to solve that issue is custom decors. Im not sure if it's allowed, but I think it - there are piebalds for tigons and etc. custom decors that use default site art that was recolored, I believe if you credit properly (aka "All art belongs to Lioden") it should be fine? Im not 100% sure though, might be nice to ask in the Modbox for clarification.

And yes, custom decors do take server space - that is why creating one costs 10 GB! It is thus not an issue because it costs a lot + plus art must be proper quality to be accepted, it is not abused. Server space is taken sparingly, limited and controlled.
The snapshots would be much less limited, and explodingly flood server as more and more people customise their decor placement and more images need to be saved, taking server space.

Ahh I see, thanks for coming in and explaining before it raised too many hopes! I'll stop advertising this thread, but I'll leave it up if that's okay just in case someone comes through with a suggestion for a possible fix <3

YESS! I have such hard time with my Primal king since every decor is a tad bit off. If the decors aren't going to be updated for muties this at least would work out problems with a lot of the decors and give more room to customizing AND be less work for the team than redrawing etc. every decor to fit every mutation.

I'll be mad if this doesn't go through haha

The examples that you showed are like that because they're mutations, but I support anyway. Sometimes, decors I love layer over one another, and I can't use them on one lion. OR, they don't sit at the same bottom, so it looks like one is 'floating'.

Yes, please! I have a Primal king and it's so hard getting decors to fit him properly. Also, I'm kind of a decor whore and when placing a bunch of decor, it's hard to get it in the right place. You get my support a million times!

I'm sad this idea isn't very plausible according to what Mad Hyena said. But perhaps we could have users or somebody volunteer just to make decors work for mutations? For example moving it slight ect? That way Xylax wouldn't have to do it all, but we could have decor for muties without redrawing it? All would have to be approved maybe and obviously any that don't work do to line art adjustments wouldn't be used? For example pieces that require that are cut out wouldn't be eligible. It would only be pieces that merely don't quite match up. Maybe users could post requests for specific decor and a mutation. For example flower crown tigon ect. Maybe an small sb or gb fee for each item requested by a user? First come first serve so repeat requests are refunded to the last user to make them so the site still makes something from it. I'm suggesting that the image itself be saved and them it can be an overlay. It'll just be fox cub: tigon instead of just fox cub. And it would allow staff to prioritize the most wanted decors. Requests could be rejected if the staff believes the image is fine as is or is unable to be done.

Don’t support, since this defeats the purpose of some custom decors people worked very hard on for certain mutations. Also, seems unlikely.
