Exactly what is says on the tin. GMOs occur in what...one event out of the whole year? They're expensive (the tigon situation not withstanding), both in event and normal currency, so it's my opinion that a GMO should not be able to produce any low tier mutations. The cost/reward is WAY skewed. No user should use a GMO and get a boring Achromia, Foldie, Bobtail, Tailless, or any nonsense like that. Such an expensive item should yield mane-mutations at the very least. Getting a common mutie from such an expensive item is just insulting. ADDENDUM: PLEASE READInstead of outright blocking common mutations, the use of a GMO makes them rather uncommon. Occuring in maybe 10-20% of cubs successfully affected by a GMO Cow. The rest will be mid and high tier Mutations. |

Yep, the chances are definitely fine. I think only 1 of my GMO breeds ever failed completely and that was a 1 cub litter. Stupid me forgot to give the stud buffy balls first, those days when you had to send everything separately as a gift. But getting an achro and a bobbie out of my buffy, gmo, 50GB cost high stat breed was... ugh, gross. It's like 40GB down the drain, might as well just have sold the GMO. ![]() |

Uh...I'm really stuck in the middle on this. I can't support or not support, honestly. ![]() |

That's fine! You don't have to, just give yourself time to think on it. Maybe Staff should add an "On the Fence" button lol ![]() |

i agree. i'd take an achromia over no mutation any day, but at least the mane mutations have several variants. i kind of want to collect them, but even if i used a GMO chances are i would not be able to achieve even half of them and would get 3 foldies instead ![]() |

I don’t really support. One, it would cause a boom in the “rare” muties that could destabilize the market. I know how heartbreaking it is to use GMOs and only get those maned gals (been there too often...) but a lot of the rare muties like the Lethals or hybrids are so expensive because they’re so rare. Two, the point of a mutation is that it’s a random occurrence. Yes, the CRBs have higher lethal chance, but that’s based on a real-life problem with miscarriages causing unhealthy offspring later on. I just don’t see a reason that the GMO Cow would only give up the rarer muties ![]() |

I wish that you would get better mutations from a GMO Cow or something. I actually had a friend who tried to use a GMO Cow to get a Leopon I think it was. They got a no tailed female that was really ugly. (The parents had good markings) ![]() |

No it wouldn't and I've already explained why. Muties roll in pools and as long as the pools for rare isn't changed, their output will not change. This is not a bid to increase rare mutations, its a bid to DECREASE common mutations and make room for more reasonable mutations like mane muties, polycods, OG claws, OG teeth ect ect. ![]() |

There are more leopons, sometimes by 2x! than some of the mane muties. That... really shouldn't be the case. Except it is because GMOs throw so many extremely common muties and leopons make more of themselves. ![]() |

You know what could happen? Lower the rates of low-tier muties and raise the prices in the event in which GMOs appear to balance the market ![]() |

So, you’re saying that if the GMO Cow rolled a Mane Imperial with the way it works now, it would just disappear? Or would it change to a more uncommon mutie? If you decrease the likelihood of the common muties, are you decreasing the mutie chance overall or increasing the uncommon mutie chance? ![]() |

the mane muties are not disappearing, they are part of the same pool as overgrown teeth and polycadual. no mutations here are disappearing, the rate of achromia, foldies, bobbed tails for instance would be lowered because they are pretty much worthless right now ![]() |

So by decreasing the chances of “worthless” mutations appearing, you'd either decrease the chances of mutations overall or increase the chances of a rarer mutie ![]() |
