♢ Two Worlds Divided ♢

In a world where Firestar never entered the forest, the Three were never born, and the Dark Forest never rose, four clans still remained. The prophecy of Fire was never fulfilled, and eventually, hope that it ever would be was given up. Yet life still went on. Surely, it was rocky at times; especially when Tigerstar became leader of Thunderclan, and had his tyranny. Bloodclan still came, and the clans were still able to fight them off. The forest was still torn down by Twolegs, and all four clans traveled to the lake.

This is where their story changes. Along the way, the clans collided with what was then the remainders of Skyclan. Somehow, they'd managed to bring themselves together without any influence from the distant clans at all. They were welcomed, and now, five clans set out to find what would be known as the lake territories. Thunderclan, Riverclan, Shadowclan, Windclan, and Skyclan all lived in more or less peace. Surely, there was an initial struggle for space and prey, but they managed.

Until one particular autumn, that is. A hurricane mysteriously struck the lake, and Riverclan got the worst of it. Their entire territory was flooded, and they were forced to flee. The five clans met in the outskirts of Thunderclan territory, for their usual gathering spot was submerged in water as well. Riverclan begged for new land, or at the very least, shelter until the water went down. Skyclan was willing, but without the necessary space for this. They were sorrowful only able to state that they would provide shelter for Riverclan's queens, kits, and elders.

Thunderclan and Windclan stated that they would take the warriors and apprentices respectively. But Shadowclan... Shadowclan refused to help. They instead took complete advantage of the situation, claiming the flooded Riverclan territory as their own, and pushing back on the borders of their clans. They coaxed many of the younger warriors to join them, showing how much more powerful they were by slowly shrinking Skyclan, Thunderclan, and Windclan's territories.

Moons passed, and tensions continued to grow high. The water did eventually go down, leaving Riverclan a swampy, almost uninhabitable mess, but Shadowclan still refused to give it up. By this point, the other four clans were living on a single territory, and were half the size, for Shadowclan's influence was this powerful. Finally, Starclan had enough. They sent an omen to the medicine cats that if Shadowclan was not brought to their senses and this was not stopped, all five clans would fall in a vicious, bloody war.

So, with the grace of their ancestors, they all came to an agreement. There was no longer enough territory inhabitable for four clans. Thunderclan and Windclan would join together, and take the entirety of the right side of the lake. Shadowclan and Riverclan were forced together, and would take the left side. None were thinking of Skyclan, who were the first to initially even offer aid to Riverclan. Once they were brought to attention, the four leaders of the other clans came to the abrupt decision that Skyclan would split, and each side would join the two newly formed groups. Skyclan was far too weak to protest, and thus, it was done.

Now, Stormclan and Mistclan, as they have called their new groups, live in what one would refer to as an uneasy, unstable peace. Tensions are still quite high, for it was only several moons ago that the split occurred. The clans are not as willing to work together as they'd initially hoped, and Starclan had been unusually silent. With the shadow of new conflict haunting them, the two clans will certainly need the cooperation they are lacking to have even a chance to survive their inevitable doom. Will the five clans ever find it within them to work as two? Or will they be lost forever, as their worlds remain divided?.
