There's a decor called Rüppell's Revenge, I believe the bird in it, is called Rüppell's Vulture, as a vulture, this kind of bird are scavengers.

Here's a link of the decor, what do you notice? The cub in the decor looks like a Wenet!!

I believe, while rabbits took over a part of Africa, they also drove out some native species which Rüppell's Vulture might have eaten the carcasses of, these birds rarely hunt their own prey, I think it's safe to assume they aren't very fast and good at catching food, which rules out live rabbits as a possible food, so instead, they took a defenseless cub which happened to be Wenet's!

There could be multiple reasons as to why she wants the rabbits dead, maybe she thinks once they're gone, other creatures will return and Rüppell's Vultures will never feed on cubs again, maybe she hates them and just blames them for her cub's death!! Maybe the reason she's so possessive of her Easter Eggs is so she can save enough to pay the rabbits to leave, maybe her mask and decor helps with scaring the rabbits away!! She mentions wanting to study the carvings on Easter Eggs, maybe she thinks they'll lead her to a clue as to why there's a rabbit plague!!

"Looks like Fluffballs think we all mindlessly farm Carved Easter Eggs in order to supply our prides with Egg Yolks. They are indeed very nutritious, but we also care about future of our cubs. Lions cannot hunt Fluffballs to survive, and it looks like soon, Fluffballs will become the only prey around." She seems to be aware that rabbits are indeed an invasive species.

"When Fluffballs disappear, so will I, as I do have a family back home. Eating a lamb always made me feel calmer and stronger when it’s time to migrate." Maybe the cub isn't specifically her's but just her pride's and her whole pride is out to get rid of rabbits! Even if the cub is hers, maybe she joined this pride to get her revenge!!

Wenet also mentions research about the rabbits, maybe she became intrigued and wants to figure out how to stop them from visiting each year, in order to prevent other cubs from being eaten or just because she despises them! She seems to know a lot about this rabbit plague and seems sure it will be over.

"There it is. I got it. Poison. We need to poison those motherfluffers, slowly, so they bring all this toxic stuff into their dens and it oozes onto other Fluffballs. I have an idea. Fake grazer food, let’s call it palms. It will be a symbol of new life, life after death of all the Fluffballs." She does kill them at the end and then leave, I guess her job is done... :c

I'm sure you've noticed that Wenet can be a little bit... Crazy, for example, her December event's caption is:

"Upon a snowy hill, you spot Wenet the Wise building a snuhfluffball sculpture! You watch her progress intently. The bunny begins to look creepier and creepier over time, until Wenet starts to.. eat it. The whole thing. Wow. That girl is not right in the head."

Maybe she was driven slightly crazy because of grief and / or obsession??
