If it's the story that is confusing, let me give a brief summary wit no spoilers. You have already met Tefnut, Apedmak's wife and Menhit's mother. She is important later. Apedmak is a self-proclaimed god of the celestial kingdom and claims he can control the rocks falling from the sky. Something tells you he is crazy, and he might as well be. Menhit is the celestial princess. She is a kind an adorable lioness. She has a boyfriend from the lands of fire, Apollyon. (I'm hoping I spelled that right because I'm too lazy to fix it now.) Apollyon's name is probably a reference to Apollo, the Greek god of the sun. He comes from the land of fire and has the power to control fire.
