The Kakapo is from New Zealand. they are highly endangered. But they are oh so adorable! They are the largets Parrot species, are totally flightless and used to range the whole of New Zealand. European introduction of weasels, cats, dogs and other predators has nearly decimated these once numerous birds. There are less than 150 in existence.
