I'm not sure if this is something that has been discussed before, or is something that's feasibly possible, but I just wanted to share my two cents.

Have you ever woken up to a billion notifications you didn't feel like sifting through by hand so you go to delete them, but in the process oops you've deleted the only message that actually mattered in the bunch? And now you can't get the message back. Whoopsy. Why not have something like the 'trash' folder many email providers have, as a way to retrieve or simply re-read messages you've accidentally deleted for a time?

Alternatively, perhaps there could be a way to 'mark as read' certain messages in order to avoid accidental deletions in the first place?
