Den Banners
As always we have a lot of banners to choose from, and anyone is welcome to create their own. Just shoot me a message and I'll post them to the thread :)

You can pick any you want to post on your den.

How to add a banner to your den: Go to your den page, scroll all the way down until you see "Edit Your Details". The first option should be a box that says "Territory Description". Just copy and paste the banner code into there. If you're on mobile, it won't show up to you, but should work just fine :)

This section got pretty long and messy over the past few years as we've accumulated more and more banners, so I have moved them off the main thread.

I've created an imgur album which includes pictures of all of our banners and links for posting them, but it doesn't work very well on mobile.

Rules
I have a few important rules for you to read over, they're only here to ensure everyone has as much fun as possible so please do your best to follow them.

1. All the standard Lioden rules apply. This includes being polite to other members, don't be rude if you get a bad treat or someone forgets to reply or something. It's usually unintentional.

2. If you're not currently playing, make sure to put "Lights out" in your name so people don't trick or treat you. If someone trick or treats you by mistake, don't be rude about it.
2.5 If your lights are out, you can't trick or treat other people, in order to keep it fair.

3. Don't give out really crappy treats. Please. If you don't have anything nice to give away, you can always turn your lights out to restock. The game is for fun, not to dump things you don't want on other people.

Examples of unacceptable treats:
(All of these can be sent in large amounts or along with other things.)
Less than 30 sb.
Food that expires the next day. This can be inconvenient for many people.
A single common explore or hunting item. Common explore items are 1-3 use skulls, feathers, and small carcasses, gems, cave crafting items, bug decors, karma backgrounds, thirst items.
There's more, but you know the type of items I mean.

4. Try not to give lions or battling beetles unless they are nice. If you do give out a lion/beetle as a treat, it is 100% up to the person you gave it to if they decide to sell it.

5. If you get a bad treat, there are plenty of other people to Trick or Treat from, so its best to just let it go. Some people don't have the resources to give out really nice things every time.

6. Try not to visit the same person too often. Wait at least a couple days before repeating. (A useful strategy is to keep a list of people you've already visited)

7. If someone is breaking a rule or doing something that seems questionable, please message me about it.

How it works:
▸Put "lights on" in your username to let others know your den is open for trick or treating. You can turn them off at any time by switching it to "lights off" if you're taking a break or need some time to catch up.
▸When your lights are on, you can trick or treat other players with their lights on. You do this by sending them a short message/roleplay/story that makes sense as a trick or treat. Make sure to put Trick or Treat in the topic line to avoid confusion!
▸Tip: If you're not sure what to write, take a moment to describe your lion's costume or admire the decorations! Be creative!
▸You can use a made up lion or one from your pride. If you want to use a real lion, it's cool to put a link to it in the message.
▸Then they will send a response back, and you will receive a treat! This will be an item of some kind that they will transfer to you.

Examples:
Here are some examples of trick or treat messages and acceptable treats. They can be as complex as you want, don't do stuff like "A cub walks up to you and says 'trick or treat'." Try to put some thought in :)
Personally, I like to give better responses and better treats to those who send good greetings. So keep in mind that the better the greeting, the better your chance of getting a good treat may be!

Greeting Example:
(This one is pretty minimal, but you can always go for as much as you'd like.)
King Sylar slowly enters the territory, stopping along the way to admire the decorations, his hellfire eyes sweeping over the bones littering the ground with a smile. Walking along the path, he comes to the king and sits, an expectant look on his face. "Trick or treat!"

Then, the player who has just been visited will make a response.

Response Example:
"Why hello," the king hisses, a snake tongue flicking between his teeth. He whispers in the ear of a nearby onyx lioness with a skeleton painted on her fur. She nods excitedly, running off to meet her orders. She comes back holding a lion skull in her mouth. "We have so many," she says with a strange glint in her eye. "Not everyone who comes here is so polite."

Then, they would transfer the treat. In this case, maybe a lion skulls, or an ancient lion mask.

Or, rather than having your king give out a treat, something unexpected could happen. A lich lion might attack you, zombies may rise up from the ground, or you be infected by a rabid hyena! October is all about weird stuff happening!

Alternate Response Example:
The king opens his mouth to respond but suddenly the ground seems to come alive as the dirt boils beneath your feet. You fall to the ground just as you see what is happening...bugs are crawling out of the earth by the thousands. Just as you begins I think you'll be buried, they retreat back to wherever they came from.

Then transfer the treat, which could be silver beetles or bug decors or maybe a GB. Whatever you think is good and makes sense.

Costume Contest!
It is what it sounds like, a costume contest. To enter, you can post on this thread a wardrobe link to a lion design, or a link to an actual lion. The designs will be entered here and can be voted on near the end of October. They can have any markings, bases, mutations, poses, decor, whatever you want.
Note: If you use a link to a lion, it will be judged based on its looks at the end of the competition, so keep this in mind if you change its decor. Also, when submitting early please use a permanent link, not one that expires.

You may enter up to 3 times.

Entries will be accepted starting on October 1st along with the start of the trick or treat. A GB prize will be awarded to the winner, and prizes will be awarded to 2nd and 3rd place as well.

Ashanti, things with more than 3 uses that aren't expiring, or more than like, 50 sb. You're new, so I recommend lion skulls.
