Disclaimer: this is NOT a "guaranteed base passing" or "buffed crunchy" suggestion If this is in the wrong forum just let me know! SO. Anybody who has religiously bred medium bases knows it's a very frustrating task. Especially if you use items like Gnawrocks and Saltlicks only to get a dark or a light cub that just makes your project that much harder to breed for. What I am suggesting is an item the guarantees genetics passing. For example, I give this item to a Pearl lioness with the genetics of Cream Medium Solid Special, and breed her to my Ice king with the genetics of Black Dark Countershaded Special. This item then guarantees that the cubs produced from this lioness would be Cream Medium Solid, with whichever rarities roll for each cub. I believe with the new implementation of reverse studding, this item would be beneficial for those who wish to reverse to girls which don't fit with their king's genetics. This would also help with medium breeding by eliminating the 30% chance to roll light or dark, without completely breaking breeding itself. If you have any suggestions or concerns I'll be happy to address them, and if you object please let me know why |

I think it should be restricted to within the same genetic color group, breeding cream med solid to cream med solid. It would be able to gureentee cream med solid. Not out of genetic color group. That would make combos insanely easy 0 players like this post! Like? |

Not particularly because the chances for bases passing and combos rolls before fails would, so it wouldn't effect combo chances much, if at all. Especially because a great deal of combos don't necessarily share genetics with their factors. And on that note, it would completely nullify one of the major points of the time: to lessen the impact of reverse breeding with a lioness that doesn't match your stud's genetics 0 players like this post! I don't think it should guarantee all genetics. Using your example, it should only guarantee Medium genetics if used on a Pearl, Dark genetics if used on an Ice, etc. Still not sold on the idea, I'm undecided for now. 0 players like this post! No. We have enough guaranteed/assisted passing items, more is just asking for trouble. No support. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 19/11/19 @ 22:01:08 by Jax'olantern [SF7] (#98288) |

We also have a game that is constantly evolving, and with the new Reverse Studding feature, where you can only use your own king, something as simple as genetics passing isn't going to break the game. It's not altering common / uncommon / rare rates, and it's not altering base pass rates. What's so villainous about an item that eases breeding strain, especially with the new system in place, in the smallest of ways? 0 players like this post! Like? |

i think it maybe should be like a lot of other items and only increases the chance but not to 100% 0 players like this post! Like? |

I chose yes, mostly because it would be totally helpful for elysian breeders such as myself. Although the coding would take a horrid amount of time. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Just because the game is constantly evolving doesn't mean this would be a good addition. Making things easier to get devalues them. If you want same genetics, breed to same genetics. An item is honestly unnecessary. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Lowkey appreciate this, I think it would be a nice addition if itβs only able to be used on reverse studding however, just to keep it from people being lazy and not wanting to find a stud to use on a girl. 0 players like this post! Like? |

The main benefit for this would be for medium breeders; otherwise it's simple enough to match up dark x dark, solid x solid etc and know exactly what you're getting with no items required. I'm not usually in favour of things that make breeding rare attributes easier - and especially bases. But in this instance I think it does make sense, since medium breeders are at a significant disadvantage because of the way medium breeding works (only 70% chance of breeding true, instead of 100% for dark and light). I actually like that ratio myself, because I like the variety of being able to get any shade base when breeding to a medium, which is why I haven't supported suggestions in the past to change it to 100%. But for anyone else who is trying to breed *just* medium bases it's definitely an added challenge, which an item like this could help with. I don't think this is a game-breaking item, and I don't think it would materially affect rarity or value of bases either, honestly, especially if it was an event item not purchasable easily all year round. It seems reasonable enough to me, so support! :) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Medium is SUPPOSED to be harder to breed. Just because an item isn't purchasable year-round doesn't mean it couldn't be used to affect events it isn't available in. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I'm not convinced the reason medium was set up like that was specifically to make it harder; the reasoning given at the time was purely for realism, because it's closer to how genetics work irl. It's already been changed once from 50% to 70% because it was so much more of a pain than dark or light, and there's always been a significant amount of support for increasing that even more. This seems like the ideal alternative - no need to change the ratio, but an item (and potentially an expensive one) that will help a little for those people who are hardcore breeding just mediums. Stick it in the September shop with everything else and there won't be a massive amount bought because people will naturally still focus more on gnawrocks. I really can't see it making much difference to base rarity or worth personally 0 players like this post! Like? |
