While it looks nice, I'd hate to see it added to Golden. It'd be more at home as a Black base as it is :'D 0 players like this post! Like? |

We've got too many black bases and I would love for more pretty golds ^^ 0 players like this post! Like? |

I got nothing against it, but this would be like shoving Light Golden in Black :'D 0 players like this post! Like? |

Considering how dark the other three bases they mentioned in the first post are, this makes sense in gold, and besides, gold is starving for some attention. It's gorgeous, besides! <3 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 14/12/19 @ 10:42:36 by Gravity (#170941) |

I agree that it would make more sense as a black base, but gold does need some love. Supporting either way, it's a beautiful design. 0 players like this post! Like? |

It's a nice base, but definitely not golden. It would look nice as black, maybe dark red. Anubis, chatoyant and ornament do have far more gold in them, which makes them closer to gold than this one. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Mmm, yeah, I have to agree. It would definitely fit better in black. Gold needs more love, but... with actual golds, you know? Otherwise, it isn't a bad base! I would support for it being in black. 0 players like this post! Like? |

the support is for the base, the the suggested implemented genetics is totally up to mods so I don't see why you'd no support just because you don't agree on the genetic suggestion but thank you for your feedback regardless :) 0 players like this post! Like? |

I wouldn’t be opposed to this base being added; it looks pretty good and I like the highlights of it. Perhaps as an uncommon or rare base? I’m with the others on the suggested gold genetics though—it’s not a golden base at all to me, sorry. Gold needs more love, yes, but shoving a black/red base into gold for the sake of “spicing it up” is pretty counterintuitive. And as for the line that “the suggested implemented genetics is totally up to mods”, that’s... not all true. Mods definitely take into account the suggested genetics of bases, and while it’d be cool to get another nice dark brown base ingame, I would really hate to see it thrown in gold. 0 players like this post! thanks for the input, I agree that it would make a good red dark base ^^ 0 players like this post! Like? |

The finish you're thinking of, near-black with coppery rub marks, is actually called Venetian Bronze. It's a chemical process that's applied by hardware manufacturers. What makes Venetian Bronze desirable for some people is exactly what makes it undesirable for others - it will never develop a patina. It doesn't have the depth and nuance of real bronze. Oil Rubbed Bronze finishes, on the other hand, are exactly what they sound like. Someone takes bronze, an alloy of copper, tin, and other metals, and literally rubs it with a dark oil until it achieves the desired color. The underlying metal always retains its coppery warmth, though the exact composition may push the undertone more toward the yellowy side from time to time. Even at its most aged state, covered in patina and darkened by time, bronze retains its characteristic warmth. All that said, I think this would be perfect if you warmed everything up juuust a little. I like the "rub marks," and I think they give the impression of natural wear over time, but it doesn't quite have that depth and glow right now. 0 players like this post! Like? |
