Before June's storyline revamp, the event was much, much different, and boasted a unique mechanic where all players needed to work together to avoid floods. These, besides affecting the event area, could swipe carcasses off of our own hoards every Rollover unless they were buried, in a trade or on a branch, and just before its revamp, two characters were introduced to us: Oya, a human sangoma NPC that was able to communicate with us, and her goat, Azazel.

While most of this event's features were crammed into our "yearly" wet season as drops in explore and the pit opening at the Crossroads, along with the unique crafting items being added to the Monkey Business crafting area, its most engaging feature, that is, sacrificing goats to avoid the floods or dealing with the aftermath if we failed, was never seen again.

Wouldn't it be interesting to have it make a comeback, either every wet season or only once every month?

We could have a brief notice like the one of the Gorilla's Albino Cub Challenge, with Oya asking for our help to gather the goats that have scattered into the wilds, and two floodmeters just below her - one tracking personal progress and another to track global progress. Azazel could be bribed to guide us to the wayward cattle - perhaps with different combinations of herbs? -, so their encounters are more frequent in explore, or something along those lines.

I think it would be a fun way to see those two again, and it even could serve as another way to get different rewards, like with the Vredefort Adventure or the Albino Challenge are, while being a simple, repeatable thing; sacrificing a given amount of goats before a timer runs out, donating animal hides, shaman herbs...

There's also the issue of the Phantom Quartz item, which could either appear in explore during a flood or be one of Oya's rewards, and be used to craft different Jewelry like any other gem in game, or even serve as a pseudo-currency for Oya.

Another possible way to bring these back would be meshing the current June storyline with the previous one, with Apophis' awakening causing floods on top of all the other doom and gloom. (Credit to Khajiit)

To summarize, what I'm suggesting here is:

• Have the Floods return, either every wet season/a single wet season every month, or meshing both June events together


• Have two floodmeters: one tracking our personal progress and another tracking global progress


• Oya having daily quests during the three days of the Floods, where she will want animal hides, shaman herbs, ect. in exchange of experience and items


• All the above would mean being able to craft rawhides out of carcasses for the duration of the Floods


• Azazel being able to help us track other goats to sacrifice


• Phantom Quartz returing to the game, either as an explore drop or one of Oya's rewards, and it being useful for something
