Sometimes, I feel bad when I take down a trade that had one or two person watching it because you obviously had to have some interest to even WATCH it to begin with, right?

I don't know who watched it, and I took it down, that makes me feel bad because I wish I could go message them and ask about their 'so and so' interest in said trade, maybe work out an alternate trade idea with them, because what if they were saving up? When i take it down, I'll never know...and I probably ruined their grind to save up to buy out the trade.

Or maybe they watched it but forgot to come back to it? That is always a possibility.

Anyways, point being, the person who made the trade should be able to see who are the players who watched it (anyone else who is not the owner of said trade cannot see). Obviously, don't go harass them to buy it, I do understand this is an implication, granted this could always be rectified by a flag and report/block.

But if they forgot they watched it, a friendly reminder message could be good, or if you're curious, you can say:

'Hey, I am going to take this trade down, but I saw you're interested in it. Is there any particular item in this bundle you want? Or any price range/budget you had in mind? Maybe we could work out a different deal?"

------------------

Second idea, you know how we can 'bump a trade? What if there is a similar 'nudge' button to send a reminder to people who have watched saying 'You have been reminded of this trade you have watched"...etc etc?

Because like, lets be honest people, we're busy, we multitask and do a lot of stuff, we forget we can see the trades we have on watch, or even forgot we even watched a trade to being with rofl.

I've often peeked into my stuff and went 'wait...when the heck did I watch this??" LOL

-----------------
EDIT: "Arya had a good idea of?:"
I think a good feature would be to be able to type a message that sends to the person, similar to when you reject an offer. When you go to cancel, it can have that option, where you can type something, and all your watchers can read it as a game notification, also like offer rejections. Example of what someone would see if they were watching a trade with this feature: "This trade you were watching has been cancelled. Trained contained: [Items/lions here] Message from the seller: It's been a few weeks, with no BO or reasonable offers. If you're still interested, please message me so we can work something out."

This suggestion has 80 supports and 12 NO supports.

Same, but in my case its to make sure I haven't ruined anyone's stuff. I've been on games before where people removed or took things down so fast before I got to say anything, because they assumed 'ohh this is not selling, lets take it down'. And I felt bad because I missed it, I was so close, lol

Huge support. Sometimes I've had a trade watched by 10 people, and I feel bad for cancelling. I mean, if they're saving up and want to buy, they could message you, but they may feel like they shouldn't because what if they can't save up in a reasonable amount of time? I think a good feature would be to be able to type a message that sends to the person, similar to when you reject an offer. When you go to cancel, it can have that option, where you can type something, and all your watchers can read it as a game notification, also like offer rejections. Edit: Hope this made sense? Need coffee, so I probably didn't explain properly, haha.

xD Ty! Something I thought when I cancelled a trade on some breeding items once. I was in need of gb, and realized someone, or most people, couldn't afford them all at once, so splitting them up would be easier. Wished I could give the 15 people watching a message that I was splitting them up ;w;

I think it's important to consider this issue from the viewpoint of a potential buyer.

If I'm watching a trade, it's because I am on the fence about offering. In the event of a trade I'm interested in being canceled, I can simply reach out to the user. I would rather not be contacted by a discouraged seller trying to solicit offers, even if I can understand their frustration.

However, if players were given the choice to keep themselves anonymous, then I don't mind lending my support! Same thing with reminders; there should be an option to opt out in order to reduce notification spam.

I'm definitely all for your last proposal, however!

Yeah, i'm down with you can keep yourself anonymous.

I'm not really thinking it in terms of disgrunted seller. I was thinking more along the lines of, sometimes you maybe been busy, and you forgot you had this tade, and then it was canceled, but you had been interested and possibly still may be.

Except the seller didn't know that, and took it down. So at least the seller could at least check in on us.

I've been on too many games where sales were taken down and I was just a few small amount left from buying it lol. Since sometimes you have rush sellers who aren't keeping it for the 30 day duration and such.

I see your point!

The "disgruntled seller" scenario is something I imagined occurring on an individual basis, not necessarily the norm. It's just an interaction I -- and I'm sure others -- would rather avoid.

But overall I like the concept, and as long as there are caveats in place, I think those sorts of problems can easily be eliminated!

(^^ Reading the last couple posts I see the other side, and I apologize. May have not explained myself well? (I was sleep deprived at the time, haha, so sorry) I didn't mean that the seller could view anyone and everyone who was watching and message them, just that when you cancel a trade, you can type a reason why? Like when you reject an offer, there is a space to type a reason why. And the message would appear like a game notification, like when a raffle is cancelled.

"A trade you were watching [items/lions] has been cancelled. "Message from the seller" or "Reason for cancellation": [Text here]"

As some may have watched a trade to figure out an offer, or save up, and then having it cancelled they may not want to message the seller to see if they're still selling. (I for one don't message those who have cancelled trades about said lions or items, as I'm worried they'd be angry ;w;) Being able to send a message to everyone watching (without knowing who they are) would be a nice feature, especially when you really want to sell something, and the trade had several watches, just no offers or BO. Think this really just reminds me of another thread I saw, letting you edit a trade, such as adding to your offers instead of taking it down and doing it again. It would also be nice to be able to edit the text in your trade, the

"Or, I want in return...
Please write a short description here of what you'd like in return for what you are trading. This will give other members an idea of what to offer you"

So that when you're selling a lot or other items, and you would like to tell everyone you'd be happy to split them up, or do some kind of deal on bulk buys, you may. Although, you could just do that to begin with, but most put up a lot hoping to rake in a large amount, even though most don't have said amount. So if they're desperate for gb, they'd lower the price a bit, or offer to separate whatever it is they're selling. True, you could always cancel and reset the trade, but again, if you have a decent amount of people watching the trade, you'd probably want to keep it up, just in case, in the hopes one of the watchers buys or makes an offer. Hope I explained myself a bit better here, just think it would be nice to be able to send messages to potential buyers, (the people watching the trades) while keeping them anonymous.

No worries!

The point I was addressing re: anonymity was their first proposal, which would otherwise allow owners to reach out to individual buyers and have the potential to be troublesome.

I'm sorry, no support. I absolutely see where you're coming from, and how it could definitely benefit a seller, but I have some issues with it.

1.) I often will watch trades I have 0 interest in bidding or buying just to see where the market is at. This is to see if my own trades are priced competively, to just see where market is at, or to see what happens to some crazy over priced thing in the TC. I definitely, definitely do not want these folks messaging me to try and sell me whatever I'm watching, I don't want to buy it, I want to watch it.

2.) "Watch" is a function for the buyer, not the seller. As of right now, it works wonderfully for buyers. If players could

3.) I get enough messages from folks trying to sell lions just from forums/offers on trades, I don't really have a desire to have more unprompted messages of folks trying to sell me stuff. If someone wants to make a deal, they can message you or offer. All I see happening is the watched feature not being used anymore.

4.) Could lead to harassment and additional strain on Mod team. You even mention, "Obviously, don't go harass them to buy it, I do understand this is an implication, granted this could always be rectified by a flag and report/block...", but why implement a feature that is essentially inviting this to happen? I know you and many others may use this feature responsibly or politely, but many others will not.

5.) The watched feature is meant to watch trades. It's a tool that is meant to watch trades, for whatever reason the watcher may have, which we know is not always to buy out a trade. It's not a "show interest" feature, and to change it as such will be losing the watch feature, which is utilized by players.

Thank you for thinking outside the box on ways to improve the site, but I think overall the loss of privacy to the watchers is not worth the benefit to sellers.
