So some encounters seem to have random results with whatever button you choose and can cost you -10% energy.

It seems that for an explore encounter based event, costing -10% energy, sometimes 3-4 times in a row is a heavy burden on players, eating up energy they value.

It feels as though with some encounters costing -10%, there should also be an equal chance of encounters giving +10%.

I also feel that whenever encountering poachers, (The evil bastards) there should never be negative karma given for disrupting their lives or maiming them. Sorry, but evil poachers should not cause me to become evil when I try to chase them off, scare them or lure a stampede over the top of them.

Agreed on both aspects. Exploring is hard in March because options drain so many points and those that don't can sometimes have traps that destroy your energy anyways.
Maybe some encounters with park rangers feeding your lions meat or something to do with them in general

Supporting both suggestions. For me the biggest problemʼs that explore choices in March event are completely unintuitive. I need to use wiki to check if an encounter gives negative or positive karma, whichʼs annoying, especially when playing the game on a phone (is scraping poachers or growling at them a good karma choice? — or neither of them? Eh!). Iʼve nothing against those trap encounters — thatʼs the risk Iʼm taking by participating in the event — but I agree with your point here that itʼs very unbalanced.

Support for the energy part.

Regarding the karma aspect, I do believe the encounters where the poachers 'start it' (such as possible results with Sneak and Roar) shouldn't give negative karma as your king/queen didn't seem to have violent intentions from the start, but was pushed to killing to survive. However, for options that involve your lion brutally murdering the poachers, I can see the justification in getting negative karma for. Yes, the poachers are terrible people committing atrocities, but isn't tearing them apart, crushing their skulls, or luring animals to trample them to death a cruel 'evil' act as well? It may not weigh as heavily as what the poachers are doing, but it's still pretty cruel when you could canonically battle or chase/scare them away instead. (I know you may not get a 'softer' option in the three it gives you, but consider it lore-wise)

This event feels like a punishment for beeing a good karma lion. Sometimes there is not a "good" or "neutral" solution for an enciunter, and when is, it cost 10 energy. In this aspect is the game truly inbalanced. Support!

Support. It might not be easy, but I really would like to see the three options not be ... uh... so random?

Like give me a random good karma, a random neutral karma, and a random evil karma choice. Or a choice to lose energy, gain energy, or nothing.

But yeah, it's irritating that I can get three options that will drop my karma, or lose me energy.

New year is here, and this event will start in a blink of an eye. It will be good to make this topic more visible, so we will get at least a chance to bring this change.

Just joined less then a month ago and this will be my first March, so I'd really like this to happen, and a less drain on my karma. I've worked very hard to make my king the goodest boi and I want to stop poachers so I don't get why I'd get a karma punshiment for that

I hope they do something about this. I dont think its cool to have so man negative karma encounters, or at least a hint as to what the encounters reward. Its tedious having to look it up on the Wiki.

I like the event but I wholeheartedly support this, I feel like there's too many encounters/choices that make people lose karma, especially of the type where the player might not intend to do anything 'bad' or violent.

One specific thing I want to say is that imo the options for the caracal kitten encounter are a little misleading. "Approach," which sounds pretty neutral or well-intentioned, ends up scaring the kit and making it fall to its death, but "Snarl," which logically sounds like the mean/bad karma option, ends up being good. Like, huh?

I also think *maybe* the choices where people outright attack poachers could either have a loss of karma or neutral karma but honestly, poachers are horrible, so...it's not like the player is just brutalizing ordinary people to be violent and evil, in which case loss of karma absolutely makes sense. There's also a lot of us who work hard to have good kings, so unintended karma losses or bad deeds kinda suck.

I'm not 100% sure if I personally think the attacking-the-poachers options should generally drop one's karma or what, but I do think that the options to scare/battle/chase etc the poachers should not result in a karma loss.

I really dont understand, why is option "sneak" in poacher encounter punished with bad karma. It is clear, that my lion dont want to attack the poachers. They discover him, he fight for his life... and bang! -1 karma, -5 energy. WTF???!!!
And is also deceptive, because there are two options for "sneak", one, when he succeed and this failure one.
The same can be said about "combat" options like are "agitate", "approach"... When it "fails", bang... Karma down... And all I wanted was some expy, or it was only option to avoid karma punishment... Well, my bad, it was not.

No support, sorry.
Energy is simply too valuable to be given away for free at such a big rate.

100% support! I’m trying to make my king one of the nicest lions on lioden, and through my quite small three months of staying on lioden, the March event is definitely the least favorite.

The game loves bad karma players, and almost completely ignores good karma players. Just take the December event. Poop? -1 karma. Gift? +1 karma, but give something. It’s a bit unfair. The March event is a breeding ground for bad karma players who get advantages like -1 or -3 karma, while good karma players get almost none! Also, good karma encounters give almost no items? The best we can get is “Hyena Lands” or Crocodile Carcasses! Which (in my knowledge) can’t be crafted! While bad karma players get rarer items like white lion pelts which can be crafted into rare items! But let’s get back to the point.

I agree with the -10% energy part. But not really it’s the +10% energy part. Maybe there’ll be a small, small chance to loose -10% energy instead of loosing around that much energy almost every encounter. Maybe only loose around 1-2% energy?
