I still keep my first ever claimed lioness, because I love her. She's old now and looks like a grandma and I want to keep her to the end. She's babysitting cubs now, but I think it would be nice to give some perks to older lionesses, to reward players for keeping them.

Here's a brief:
Lionesses older than 12 years old should have the same perk as nurturing lionesses have: protecting up to 6 cubs. Also, cub's training bar should rise by 1-8 % during the time they spend with grandma (grandmas tell stories and teach kids a lot =) ).

(the numbers are just placeholders)

Extra thing: After lioness reaches her 'menopause' you get a free decor - like an old fashion gradma cap, a wool shawl or other grandmotherly things. ^^

It's just an idea and I think not many people care about such things, but I like these little touches. I love how their whiskers turn white, it's such a nice touch. (Not a fan of the wrinkles though, they look more sick thank old TBH).
What do you think?

I think the items are a good touch, but May be not so much things humans have, more things like bone needles(knitting esque)and such that way, and maybe a swiped blanket... Something to the effect of: (grandma lion) looks up and smiles as you approach with something you picked up while patrolling, you drape it over her gently. Received: plundered blanket(color)

I also agree with the bit about the training bar.

Not gonna lie, this sounds pretty unnecessary and oddly OP (nurturing lions are meant to be special, if all lionesses gained their ability at a certain age, nurturing lionesses would lose value; the training bar part just seems to be a bit too much of a perk imo)

EDIT: They’re also still breedable until 14 years old, so I think that’s incentive enough to keep a lioness for a long time, get all the cubs you can during her lifetime.

I see where you're coming from, but nurturing lionesses are common enough anymore that the novelty is all but gone anyway. Besides in the mass-breeding/breed and kull set up....not many lionesses make it past 10-12 these days.

That’s probably due to looks. I’ll be real, most people only keep lions if they fit with their breeding project or if they find them pretty, that’s just a fact. I don’t think there’s a point to giving some sort of reward for keeping a lioness past a certain age; if you like her enough, you’ll keep her, no need to have some reason for people to try to keep anything they might not have room for when she’s not necessarily a favorite.

And hey, we have grandpaws, why not grandmas? =)

@R - Rhodonite
It's just a suggestion, a little idea, nothing more. It's not like you have to keep your lionesses if you don't want to, it's not a game-changer. There are people here with different playstyles, they keep their potatoes, because they like them, not everybody has breeding projects, challenges etc.
Not OP at all. You need to keep lionesses that long to have that perk or buy an older one, which would actually boost economy with trading older lions.

@UnovaSolarflare
I really like the blanket idea and a little story. =)

Needing to keep a lioness longer/buy an older lioness to have the perk doesn’t make it any less OP. Grandpaws hardly do anything compared to what this suggests older lionesses should be able to do. They just provide fun flavor text, maybe make a cub training session more successful; that’s it, that’s all they do.

As for now, cub training is tedious and has a large tendency to fail. And it's easy to forget.
In most games, you start with something tedious, you work toward some goal so you can have it a bit easier, that's how games progress, actually.
If not grandmas, do you have some better solution to it? Items don't count, I'm thinking about mechanics.

This suggestion isn't about cub training mechanics, it's about giving lionesses perks at a certain age, which is not needed.

I think giving both sides a small perk with cub training and what i'd call a mentoring ability would be a good change
