Okay, so I have some comments.

I don’t like the tie to vitiligo markings. It’s gimmicky, and while it can seem cool, how does the vitiligo tie in? Roan is just a coloration and in horses and other animals with it there’s no tie to vitiligo. Just because you saw a vit bomb that looked like a roan horse doesn’t mean the base should be bred like that. I can already see how infuriating it might be for any vit breeders who don’t breed cream.

I also think the coloration could use some improvements. The face on the horse clearly has hues of brown, and the base’s face is just one solid color that doesn’t tie into the base all that well. The dark line on the back also looks somewhat out of place. Other than that critique, it would make a beautiful Cream Dark Countershaded Rare (Cream Dark Special is very populated and doesn’t need another base).

I’m not specifying a support/no support for the reasons above, but I do think this base has a ton of potential if the blending was more reflective of the reference and it didn’t rely on a marking gimmick. I don’t think bases should rely on markings (and vice versa).

I do think it being able to pop up randomly would be cool! I definitely think random Roans should be much rarer than random albinos, since I think it would make a nice rare as there’s no Cream Dark Countershaded (since it’s a gradient, it fits Countershaded better!) rares, but if it was a common, it popping up similarly with the same rate as albino would be fine.

I like the idea of the base, but not the idea that it passes from Vitiligo; for two reasons.
Firstly, vitiligo is a lack of pigment in the skin/fur; whereas roan is a compendium of colours, so it doesn't really make sense that no pigment (vitiligo) + no pigment (vitiligo) = variety of hair colours (roan). Secondly, as a vitiligo breeder, it would absolutely interfere with potential breeding projects where I am attempting to breed vits onto a specific base :'3

I support the base colour idea, but not the way it would be bred, I'm sorry.
