Today I retired one of my lionesses while she was in the middle of a hunt, she finished the hunt roughly 20 minutes after I retired her. I think this is something that should be changed.
When a lion is of the age to retire and they are currently doing something (patrolling or hunting) the retire button should be inaccessible until that activity is complete. Something like "this lion is having too much fun to retire" or "this lion is too busy to retire at the moment" should replace the button while the lion is doing something.
(it would look somewhat like the Breed button with adols, where it says "this lioness is too young to breed")
I mainly think this should be done since nesting a lioness is something you cannot do while she is hunting, so why should we be able to retire them during their hunt?
