Hey reader! Thanks for checking my post out :) please feel free to add onto my ideas, critique them! Etc! Lmk what you like, dislike, would change!

My inspiration for these ideas came from the admins saying that the next July event (2021) will be over hauled and changed! Now obviously I have no idea what they have in mind, how much they are going to change etc. That being said, my idea is an Oceanic themed event!

Why oceanic? Here in Lioden I can see the passion for environmental issues, and the ocean is a very important part of our global ecosystem. The ocean is filled with ecologies that rely on its stability, with shifts in variables such ocean temperature and acidity, these diverse ecologies are on the brink of collapse, coral reefs are becoming bleached, lifeless and deserted, arctic ice is melting and releasing unheard amounts of carbon dioxide and methane into our atmosphere, which only serves to increase global warming. Seemingly minor shifts in ocean temperatures, even as much as 1 degree can alter an ocean ecosystem beyond repair. Trophic cascades follow as we are threatened with the loss of plankton, which serves as the base for the marine food chain. Our garbage becomes islands in the ocean as currents pull trash out to sea, suffocating and poisoning ecosystems and species alike.

The fun thing about an ocean themed event, is that it can tie in many/any parts of the world, including different biospheres, animals etc. I understand we are lions, and so in Africa, so maybe for the sake of making things easy for now we can say Coastal Africa (even though that is a very large region I know) The ocean also has to do a lot with atmospheric occurrences, for example the jet streams affect ocean currents and temperatures, so this event can also tie in atmospheric themed bases, markings, eyes, so if it was used in July, there could still be some sky themed bases still (like interstellar remnants being found in explore?)
- perhaps the event 'starts' with a great storm, displacing species as insane storms rock the tide, rip up habitats, and with it, carries loads of garbage onto the beach.
-beach/ocean themed decors, (fish, turtles, birds, coastal plant species)
- ocean themed bases (good event for black, gold and cream bases) Where they can be based off of sandy shorelines, waves, oceanic depths, and other geologically valid things.
- ocean themed marking applicators? Eye applicators? What if you could make other glass based lions? but different coloured, by combining natural glass with shiny stones? Or maybe those could be cool eye applicators, or natural glass with other items could make jewelry? (see below point for more ideas on this)
- maybe you can find other items washed up on shore, there could be either new items, or old ones (valuable ones), where there is a very low percent drop chance, for example, GMO cows could be found.
- event currency could be shells, beach glass, sand fleas (ew lmao), crabs, snail shells, limpets, or trash (see next point)
- what if trash was also collectable, obtained through explore, where either the trash found counted towards an event bar that unlocks the shop or other event tiers (like meteorite shards in July), or you find the trash, and then have to give it to an event NPC, trash could also be a currency, traded for items in a shop
- what if the main event NPCs were coastal birds?
- Event decors could be cool, jewellery made from shells, beach glass, fishing rope (body wear, head wear, earrings, bracelets, tail wraps)
