I had an interesting idea for a new feature.

A button on in heat lionesses : Send Wandering or Send Exploring.

What it does:
The lioness goes for an explore into nearby lands. It takes perhaps an hour or so. You may only use this once per day, for one lioness. She may come back pregnant!

What about the sire of the litter??
He will show up as "Unknown" with no heritage when the cubs are born. You have no idea who he was, and the lioness isn't telling. :)

Things that need ironing out:

Litter size: The usual random number.

Sire's Genetics (hidden from users knowledge): It should be a wide, varied pool of possibilities. Of course some special bases and markings should be excluded, but you could get almost anything. I can understand that it may be likely to recieve common bases/marks in most cases but there should certainly be a possibility for special bases and unusual marks! Maybe even exclusive ones! It needs to have potential to be exciting.

Number of markings cub(s) can inherit: Not sure, perhaps there should be a limit..maybe 6 or so? Or just use the usual algorithm....

Should it cost some SB to press the button?

Is the pregnancy chance 100%? Does the lioness's fertility matter? She must not be infertile.

I think this could be a really fun new feature. :)
Feel free to discuss and add your suggestions to the idea!

P.S.: I do know as far as "realism" goes this would likely be bad news for the cubs being sired by an outside lion. :P But since it's a game and we take plenty of liberties with our sparkle-lions I'm ignoring that fact. ;)

This suggestion has 192 supports and 10 NO supports.

Very interesting! It could also add more background to how 1st gen hybrids are born!

Maybe you should be able to press it multiple times a day, just with an hour cool down, and the first time is free but after you pay like 200-500 sb!

Intresting, It should be expensive tho, like I'm talking maybe a GB or more per time. Sounds like it'd be difficult to code, but I'm not a coder so idk. Support

I feel like with some more ironing out, this could be an interesting feature.

- I believe it should cost SB, maybe 500+ or so? Enough to make it a more difficult feature to use.

- If I understood your wording correctly, this could only be used once per day on an account, for a single lioness. I think this cooldown is a good idea.

- The chance for bases / markings should be low - make it a real risk that you'll just get potatoes in return, but also give it that dash of excitement.

- I think lioness fertility should play a role, although perhaps somebody with a better grasp of math could come up with some percentages xD

I'm not supporting quite yet, but I am interested to see how this can be developed. ^^

I think this is a really cool idea!

I do see a problem with a totally random stud. There are simply so many bases, markings and all and the pass rates for rares/specials are so small I think it would turn people more away; since you could simply stud to an existing king instead.

Maybe instead of meeting an unknown lion and it randomises your cubs litter, you could instead receieve a message stating "a loner has been loitering around your territory [lists Base, Mane, Eyes, Marks etc.]. If you're lioness goes for a stroll, they might stumble onto one another. Still want to proceed?" Before you pay.
That way it will still be an unknown stud and the lionesses fertility could roll on whether or not she would turn pregnant.

But I really love the idea! Adding some more gene variety that doesn't depend on your own king or active members.

I like this idea. Here's the critera I would add:

~ Give the lioness a 5% chance of coming back pregnant

~ Allow a lioness to be sent out with breeding items applied

~ I would say that 500 SB is a reasonable price for this feature, but it would greatly depend on what markings/bases/mutations are possible from this. I would imagine that if this was implemented, raffles and hybrids would likely be excluded

~ ^^ It would be more interesting if your lioness had, say, a 5% chance of giving birth to non-lethal, non-hybrid mutated cubs

~ Put it in under the "Patrol" area and have it work like sending a sub male on patrol, lasting an hour. I also would suggest limiting this to once a day and with only one lioness.

~ Keep the idea of males being unknown (or heritageless)

~ As was already listed, the lioness must be in heat and must be fertile.

Either way, I support, as I could see this being really fun to play with if it were implemented.

I think the price would be dependant on your chance of rare bases or markings. There should be a big element of chance. Most of the time it may be a potato. :) Kinda like grabbing a tree cub I guess. So maybe not too expensive so newer people can afford it; it would be a nice way of getting a variety of lions for them. I'm not sure if mutations and such would be a great idea as the feature might seem a bit "OP".

The chance she gets pregnant should be a lot more than 5% since you can only use it once a day while she is in heat. I see it as being easy to get a bred lioness but not so easy to get a special cub.

Also I can see people who like to write pride lore liking this feature, as it creates interesting backstory details.

If you can manage to get a lioness bred each day, in a while you can have a litter born each day that will a complete surprise to you! That sounds awesome to me. :) It's like a cub grab bag. You wouldn't have to use your expensive lionesses, just an ncl if you want.

I'm also liking the idea of exclusive bases from this even more. That would be good for the market, a bit of fresh air.

^ I can understand all of those points. It is nice to have features that everyone can use. If you want this to be similar to the Giving Tree, then maybe have the price be an amusement item or items? For instance, when you go to the Cloud Forest, you have to pay an NPC with amusement items. Maybe this feature could be similar to that as well?

Ooh another thought crosses my mind, this would be a really good way to reintroduce extinct marking/slots

this is a really interesting idea! i think that it would be easiest to code if the lioness' chances of getting pregnant and chances of mutation were not changed from how they usually are, and that would make the 500SB price a little more fair, as if there was a 5% chance of them getting pregnant as all, as indiana suggested, then no one would use the feature. It would probably be easiest for the coders to implement it the same as normal studding always works, the only difference being it would RNG the traits of the stud

I love this idea! Maybe, as consolation prize (for lack of better wording) your lioness could come back with a small carcass, or a feather or some sort? Like a gerbil carcass or something, or a small meat chunk.

This is a very interesting idea! It would definitely make me interact more with my other lionesses, rather than just breeding them when they're in heat. Would love to see this implemented!

I REALLY like this! I'd be super fun for a random chance, total support!
I would say if it did cost SB though, it should be cheap, especially if there were unlikely unlikely chances of even uncommon shades, and they could be potato cubs. 20 maybe highest? Either way, I would so heckin enjoy this.

Reading this, I'm thinking something that could mesh well with this idea is some of these mystery studs being chased submales/aged-up adols That way, when you have a submale that you need to get rid off, but still think is pretty/ has good genetics (or you don't want to send even more males to the tree), they could contribute to a mystery litter! It could also reduce the amount of male adols being sent to and clogging up the tree!

It also makes it so the genetics of these studs are pretty fair, just like chased lionesses, sometimes a user may chase a lioness with a rarer base/eyes/etc, but it's pretty rare hahah

(The option of chasing adols instead of full grown males is because of the scarcity of male slots lol, these adols would be aged up upon being chased)

Chased males get deleted so it wouldn't work
