I know what you're thinking! This isn't the normal "bring back the messages" thread tho! I have a solution I think might help both parties.
The solution I'm purposing would include bringing back messages to include when you offer on someones trade, but with the limitation that you cannot write them yourself. The message box would be a dropdown of 3-7(ish) responses pre-written by staff that a user could leave. This removes the ability to beg users for assets or try to degrade their trade (or other users offers) on the trade itself, while still allowing players a public form of communication to open discussions.
Suggested Messages:
- "Open To Counteroffers" (Which means the user offering is open to the owner of the trade countering on their offer. To request more in the offer, to request a change out in the offer, etc)
- "Is There Anything Specific You Might Want?" (In case the user didn't really specify anything in the "what I want" box other than just saying "offer".)
- "Open To Trades?" (Another in case they didn't fill the "what I want" box.)
- "Are you willing to hold?" / "Willing to leave up for a while" (Thank you Aggy for this one - This one is in case you're saving up to buy and you want the owner of the trade to know you're interested, etc)
Open to other message suggestions.
I will not add any that I feel are begging.
I will not include, and do not suggest, a message asking if the trade owner will go lower on the price.
