Let's just jump right into this topic, no need for introductions. ( credit for first image, credit for second image, credit for third image, which is also where most of my info comes from. ) This is Pseudaelurus, a prehistoric feline. It appeared during the Miocene period, about 20 million years ago. It could be found separated into various species all across the globe, in Europe, Asia, and North America. This is because it crossed the Bering land bridge, that connected Alaska and Siberia. It could be as little as a house cat or as large and intimidating as a cougar. This was one versatile little cat! But, enough with the background info. I have a proposition to make. I mean, just LOOK at those markings! If we don't have something like those in Lioden, I'd say we're missing out. But there's a lot more that goes into a mark than just adding it. ----------------------------------------- How could we implement it? Let's brainstorm. Here are some ideas. - Applicator made from 10x crumbled fossil - A whole new item randomly found in Explore during November- Prehistoric tooth! 15 teeth could create the applicator. - Breed only, could be Nimravus + Margay. How would a combo marking work? Well, if you had a Nimravus on one parent and a Margay on the other, and they were in the same slot, there would be a chance of passing a Pseudaelurus marking! --------------------------------------- Mockups! If anyone thinks they could do a better one, please let me know, I'm an amateur. --------------------------------------- [ again, this is just a rough sketch and is absolutely not the concrete version of how the marking would look. ] And there we go!! Lineless is ugly, but here it is anyway: So there you have it! And since Pseudaelurus is such a long name, we could shorten it to just 'Psuedae' or 'Lurus'. Let me know your thoughts about it, I'd love to hear what you have to say :D If you hit no support, please tell me why- constructive criticism, too, not just 'looks ugly'. |

I support the marking design but not exactly the name. Due to belonging in the Miocene era with no specimens ever found with coats intact, and especially due to lack of genetic evidence, the ideas of what this animal's coat would have looked like are all conjecture at best. HOWEVER I like the idea of following up this ancient probable cat ancestor. I think the markings would suit the name better if something else relating to the cat was also released WITH these markings, like perhaps a new fossil-based decor that depicted a suggested image of what it possibly looked like while alive This set of markings does strongly pull inspiration from animals like ocelots and savannah cats for me, and I definitely would support these markings regardless of the name for that reason. You could also go in more of a clouded leopard direction? And instead of a decor, a clouded leopard base could also be released? either way, supported! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Ooh, all great ideas! I'll look for animals related that had similar markings, maybe ocelot markings would work! I'll look into all of that, tysm! 0 players like this post! Like? |
