I have a theory about the Annoying Cub decor, scratch that I got two.

1: The cub decor and the lion you equip it to are best friends, which is why they're seen cuddling/wrestling/whatever. It clearly ages from cub newborn, cub young, and cub, but it doesn't seem to change much after adolescent. Definitely not adulthood, this is where the theory comes in handy. Somewhere in cub/adolescence, the "cub" somehow dies, but it doesn't show how or shows up a spirit.

2: The cub is the same from 1 in the beginning, ages from newborn to young to cub. *Something* happens and a new cub appears to annoy the chosen lion, a cub. Adulthood rolls around and another new cub.
