Yep, you read the title right! I'd like to have limbless lions added to Lioden! These lions would be born with a mutation in which they would be missing one of their four legs (or more depending on how you'd like to see it!). Now, there is a big possibility this mutation would be lethal, and it would not allow lionesses born with it to hunt for their pride. This is a random mutation that passes similar to the mane mutation. it can be obtained through items such as cotton root bark, lion meat, and other mutation-inducing items. I've seen some comments about this mutation that do worry me (as it did others). This Limbless mutation will be friendly, and considerate to all players on (and off) lioden. Any comments that were meant in a hurtful way towards people/ individuals, know that I absolutely do no condone them, and find them offensive to others. If any part of this mutation seems offensive or hurtful, please do tell me! Show your support for this mutation by pressing that support button below!! Want to see other variables added to this mutation? I'm taking suggestions on passing rates, and other stuff like that! Don't like this mutation? I'd like to why you think that (no, really!). Input is 100% welcome here! |

since this is a lethal mutation, do you have an estimated time/age where you'd think they'd pass away? i see it both as a lethal and a "normal" mutation; if its lethal, i can imagine the lion passing away at 2-3 years old, maybe due to some npc, similar to how cubs randomly go out of the pride and get killed by elephant or smthn</3 also would the leg be missing random? thatd be kinda cool, havin it random ;0c 0 players like this post! (#173983) - Excellent questions! As I haven't gone too far into the mutation right now, I'll do a brief outline of what I'm thinking! The Nub mutation would have about a 50% chance of being lethal. If the lion is born with this "version" of the mutation, they will indeed pass away randomly before the age of maturity. (This excludes the fact that it dies of the players actions. Not feeding or protecting them will result in the cub dying at a normal rate.) I'm thinking if the lion is morn with the lethal version, they will be missing 2 to even all of their legs. (If the lion is born with no legs, they will die by three ROs) Now, if the lion is born with the "normal" version, they cannot hunt, but will live a full, long life as any other lion might. I haven't decided passing rates as of now, but I can tell you that it may be a random mutation in the near future. Say you claimed a crb ncl, she may have a small chance of producing a limbless cub. Hope I could answer your questions! If there is anything I'm missing, feel free to tell me! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Galacticfox101 (#182106) - I'm thinking the whole leg(s) would be missing. And yes!! I'd be willing to commission some crutch decor for limbless lions if it get's enough love! 0 players like this post! Like? |

I'm gonna start this off with saying I do think a Congenital Limb Defect mutation or some other form of this would be an amazing idea. But, this version of it does make me worry, as with how you're currently presenting it it seems like a "collect the limbless" type of mutation, like pies. My main worry with this is the fact it's already being called "The Nub Mutation" - this can be very offensive to people with limb defects. Plus, I've already seen some extremely ableist comments in the discussion of this in main chat (such as someone mentioning a lion with no limbs that just has to roll around... which is... no. just no). Since this is a common birth defect, it's important to take into count how other people with this may react to it being added. Also, there's a confirmed limb defect mutation already in development, we even have a sketch to look at! Phocomelia, which is a condition that causes very short limbs. Here's the sketch Xylax did, and you can see it listed in the official mutation suggestion masterpost. I'm overall neutral on this suggestion, I just think a bit more care and tact need to go into this. 0 players like this post! Like? |

jester [g2 bushveldrl clone] (#187561) - I understand your concern and how this may appear to people. I plan on going into the mutation more in the future, but as of now, I can't really say anything but what is in the above comment. I plan on making this as friendly to lioden and others as possible!! I wasn't around when these "rolling lions were mentioned, and had no idea it occurred. If it's brought up again, I'll make sure to redirect them on the proper merits of this mutation. Thank you for the links! I'll check them out as soon as I get time. 0 players like this post! Like? |
