You exit your tent groggily, dazed by what seemed like an endless nightmare. The cold isn't helping you at all, and you're about ready to go ahead and return to the warmth of your tent when a dazzling light catches off guard. A kirlia appears before you, pointing at the bulletin board standing ominously at the centre of the camp. "There you will find something quiet interesting," she says, before disappearing in another flash of iridescent light. For some reason, you don't find the occurrence surprising or even peculiar, somehow that kirlia feels very familiar to you.
Thinking nothing of it, you run over to the bulletin board. On top of all the other postings, was a fresh pamphlet with illustrations of three Fairy-type Pokémon. A pikachu, which you can clearly see is a mimikyu in disguise, a galarian ponyta, and a mawile. There are brief descriptions beside each picture, but at the very bottom was a job listing. "Expedition will soon be en route. One more member needed!"
It's nothing unusual, the Pokémon in this camp have been spending days on end figuring out a way to continue their journey, and expedition teams have been sent out to try and search for alternative paths. So you find it strange that Kirlia had directed your attention to this specifically.
You pondered over it a little while longer when a sleazy-looking persian slinks up to you with a wide smirk plastered all over his face. "Hey now, those Pokémon there, they're part of this new exploration team, y'know? Call themselves the Tria Faerie. They're really meek-looking," he pauses and squints into the distance, "I seriously doubt they'd make it out there all by themselves. But anyways, a strong Pokémon like me could be big help to those three, why don't you hand me that old sheet of paper, you don't mind, yes?"
Hard pass. You ignore the persian and pretend to continue reading the other posts on the board while keeping the pamphlet clutched safely within your grasp. The persian doesn't say anything and pretends not to notice. He goes on and on, asking you random questions and yammering away about how he's feeling lonely because he just can't seem to find anyone that appreciates his 'countless amazing qualities". Yeesh, I wonder why. You're starting to get a bit miffed when he asks, "Hey, who's your favourite anyways, the mawile or that ponyta? I bet it isn't the pikachu, pikachus aren't even Fairy-type." Just to maybe make him stop, you answer...

> The Mimikyu
> The Ponyta
> The Mawile

fairy-types.png

Or, you can hand over the pamphlet to the persian and be done with it. This will reward you with LCs, though you won't be able to get a chance at recruiting any of the above Pokémon ever again.

Participants can choose the same option with one another.

A side-quest has appeared!

Rumours have arisen that a certain group of bandits have come to infiltrate the basecamp! Pokémon are needed to keep the campsite guarded against these suspicious characters.

To take on this side-quest, just say so! It will not prevent you from taking on the main quest, in fact, it's encouraged that you do both.

Sure! For that one, choose one of the options listed above ^^

Would you also like to take the side-quest on? Or do you wanna skip it for now? ;o;
You can also give up that side-quest to Rookidee for a Sun Stone!

Also, quick question do I play as my litten, or a trainer?

Ok, thanks!

“Mimikyu.” Said Lavender (Litten’s name) unenthusiastically, looking closer at the pamphlet. “This looks interesting.” She thought.

"M-mimikyu?" The persian stammers. Lavender grumbled softly in annoyance before the persian launches into another tirade, "That pikachu's a- Wow! How did I miss that? Well, it's probably all this snow in the air, yes, that's it! If it wasn't for this darn storm I'd spot that trick miles away!"
Lavender had had enough and pounced away, leaving the persian to his mad, self-glorifying speeches. She checks the pamphlet again, and on the bottom it maps down a tent on the eastern edges of camp. Following that kirlia's advice, or what she assumes was her intended message, Lavender hurries up to the east, panting in exhaustion as the cold and elevation drains her energy.
She reaches the tent on the map and hovers outside. It's a little awkward barging into someone else's tent, even if it was clear that they were expecting guests. Well, no time to waste. Lavender steels her nerves and takes a deep breath- She chokes on the freezing air in her throat, oops, shouldn't have done that.
Lavender coughs away outside the tent when suddenly, a mimikyu comes peeking out. "Uh, hey, are you okay?" Lavender clears her throat to attempt and the relief the soreness, only to find it too hard to speak, so she nods in reply. The mimikyu looks on in concern, "Maybe come inside? We have tea." Well, she was planning on meeting the Tria Faerie anyways.
The cold leapt away from Lavender's bones in an instant as she drinks the cup of tea the mimikyu had made for her. She'd like to keep the comfy silence intact, but Lavender had a mission. She was about to show mimikyu the job pamphlet before two Pokémon come bursting into the tent. "Hello, Mimikyu!" A mawile roared, then noticed the litten's presence, "Oh, a guest? Who's she?" The ponyta tilted her head at her, "Who's this, Mimikyu?"
The mimikyu stutters, "O-oh, she's Lavender, I just brought her in for tea. I hope- I hope you don't mind." The mimikyu trails off at the last bit and looks down in embarrassment. Lavender took her chance to speak, "Actually, I wanted to join you on your expedition!"
The two newcomers exchanged glances and they brightened up immediately, "Yes! Of course, we'd like to have you!" They sit down beside Lavender, one on each side. "Those claws look sharp!" "Your coat is really pretty!"
Lavender squirms between them uncomfortably, but says nothing as mimikyu spares her a sympathetic glance.

Not long after, it was time to go. Donned in snow-gear, the four Pokémon make their way out of camp. The first hour wasn't so bad if not dreadfully tiring. But that's when the storm got worse. Dead grass crumpled beneath each step when the snow didn't cover the ground, and when it was, the layer of snow was so dense it almost felt like nothing else was ever beneath it.
Mawile grumbled softly to the ponyta, though Lavender could hear what they were saying clear as day. "You know, I thought if we brought a Fire-type along we could get her to make a fire for us." The ponyta shakes their mane and replies, "Well, why don't you?"
The mawile scurries back towards Lavender, who had been trailing behind to accompany Mimikyu. "Hey!" She calls out, "Could you make a fire for us?" At any other time, she would've glad to, but there was nothing around them to burn. Besides, in this cold, there was no way the small embers that Lavender could summon would even last that long. She explains this to the mawile, who seemed irritated now. "Ah, excuses, excuses!" Mawile whines, then with a quick swipe, she snatches off the cloak Mimikyu was wearing and throws it onto the ground. The mawile gives Lavender an innocent, puppy face and stares at her expectantly. The ponyta, who definitely witnessed mawile's behaviour, kept quiet and watched Lavender as well.
Lavender was too stunned to reply at first. Then she caught her senses and her blood boiled. "Hey! What were you thinking?" The mawile gives up on her innocent facade and smirks. The maw in their hair that mawile were named after opens up to show off thin, snake-like teeth. Though all the venom must have gone to fueling Mawile's malicious gaze. "Hey, hey, no need to get so feisty. Mimikyu's a Ghost, I'm sure they're not feeling a single drop of this cold."
Lavender doesn't even need to turn and check to know that the mimkyu is shivering fervently behind her. "Give that back!" She demands, her claws out and teeth bared. The mawile snickers and the ponyta trots up to join them. They definitely outsized a litten and a mimikyu, Lavender could imagine the mawile's hair swallowing the mimikyu whole and the ponyta easily trampling her down. But she stands her ground, uncharacteristically defiant.
The mawile stroke first, and all Lavender could see for a split second was a dark pit and rows of gleaming, white fangs surrounding her. Thinking quick, she uses her claws to rake the bottom of the maw forcing it to spit her out in protest. The maw was snapped shut, but mawile didn't look the slightest bit deterred. This time, both leapt into action simultaneously, but it was clear that they didn't have the best of team synergy because with a short leap sideways, the two crashed right into one another. Lavender took her chance and quickly felt heat pool up in her throat. Mawile noticed the glow right away and tried to escape, but she was entangled in the ponyta's mane. Unable to dodge the fireball, her hair and ponyta's caught on fire together. They yelped and ran around, though since they were trapped together, it just caused more panicking and confusion. Finally, the ponyta had the bright idea to douse the flames with snow and they both dove headfirst into the powdery white snow on the ground. When they got back up, they were both free of one another but furious. The mawile screeched incoherently at Lavender, but then immediately turned tail and ran, leaving the Pokémon alone in the snow.
The mimikyu still shivering, tried to stammer out a word of thanks but it was clear to the litten that they were in no shape to do much of anything. Slowly, the two made their way onwards to try and find a temporary shelter to warm themselves up. By a stroke of luck, they found a small burrow underground and dove inside to seek any semblance of warmth.
Lavender covered the mimikyu with her own cloak before venturing deeper inside the burrow, which seemed more like a tunnel now that they were underground. It was large, too large to be a mere burrow some pokémon dug up. So she ventured further into the cavern, carefully watching her step.
And then, a faint, lilac-coloured light lit up a spot in the ground. Lavender leapt away just in time to dodge the thing that burst up from underneath her. It was a sandshrew! But something was a little odd about it. It had white scales that faded into a darker purplish colour, and that alone wouldn't warrant much astonishment from Lavender as she herself bore not the usual colours of a litten, but what's more is its long, wispy tail that no other sandshrew had. At first, Lavender suspected that it was another case of variation in between regions, after all, the ponyta she just fought looked different from other ponyta in other regions. But that wispy tail, their starry eyes, and the crest they bore that looked like a star, it was almost like this Pokémon hailed down from the starry skies above. Before she could ask, it burrowed underground and tunneled away much too fast for Lavender to keep up.
Instead, she followed the sandshrew's tunnelling path ahead and discovered something really strange. An opening that lead out of the tunnel. But outside, Lavender could sense the natural winds of spring instead of the biting winter she just experienced. Lavender ran out to investigate, but as soon as she stepped foot on the fresh, emerald grass, snow fell down to encase it in its relentless cold. The litten was now ever more confused, it was as if the storm followed her here into this place untouched by winter. Like the storm had a mind of its own. Lavender shook away the thought as something a superstitious old Pokémon would think of and made her way back to Mimikyu.
It was the next day when Lavender and the mimikyu arrived back at camp. Mawile and Ponyta was nowhere to be seen and Lavender had a sneaking suspicion that they've gone in search of another member to recruit and bully. 'Oh, well, nothing to do about it,' Lavender thought. Mimikyu and Lavender parted ways after the former expressed their plentiful gratitude, Mimikyu even handed her a gift! "Oh, those bullies, I'm not sure why I bothered staying with them in the first place. If you'd be so kind, could I join you instead? After last night, I want to make it up to you, Lavender!"
Lavender gladly agreed, more help couldn't hurt anyone. And besides, she found herself growing fond of mimikyu's company.

Despite her exhaustion it took awhile before Lavender could fall asleep, and when she did, she was thrust into another dream similar to the one she just had the night before the last. That voice was there again, and there she was, floating in an endless void of darkness. This time, Lavender tried something else, she asked the voice questions. Perhaps it knew something of the weird occurrences in the valley?
"What is this storm?" She tried, no words left her mouth, but her voice reverberated all around her. "I cannot tell you. But know that is a duty on your shoulders to dispel it." Huh? Now Lavender was even more puzzled, how was she supposed to get rid of the storm? A swampert had tried to help perform a rain dance to clear away the snow, but it didn't work. Now how would she, a litten, be of any influence to stopping this bizzare snowstorm? "Take small steps, in due time, you shall see."
Lavender's head started pounding, but she asked one more question, "That sandshrew, the one that led me in that tunnel, what sort of Pokémon are they?" She couldn't shake off the feeling that the sandshrew was of foreign origin, something out of this world. Lavender was ready to accept another vague answer when she was pleasantly surprised, "They are called the mooneborne, known as Moonblight Pokémon. They have a sacred duty to sustain peace in these alps especially, which is sacred to Lunala." Lavender pondered over this, and then she nodded. She had promised to help the Pokémon in this camp complete their journey. She had expected to be a scout or some sort of sentry, but somehow stopping an impossible storm? Oh, well, maybe it's best to wait and see.

Oh boi very late to write this, sorry for the wait qwq

Dove (#224950)'s version of Glimmering Shadows
Lavender is all snuggled up in her tent as she plans out what to do next. Her end goal? Ending this storm once and for all. How to do that? That's the problem. She thinks hard on it, as hard as she could. What could possibly have caused this storm? Did it have anything to do with that sandshrew and these Pokémon called Moonblights? She had to figure it all out soon before they all stubbornly freeze solid in the valley.
The litten sighs. She puts on her cloak and tucks a fresh pair of cold-resistant flowers behind her ear. Reluctantly, she finally leaves the warmth and comfort of her tent to venture out into the cold. Making her way to Mimikyu's tent, Lavender finally decides on a course of action. Back in that tunnel, when she was following that mysterious sandshrew and had made it out to the exit, she noticed something that had slipped her mind in the heat of the moment. There were two silhouettes. Standing ominously in the distance. At first, Lavender had assumed they were just strange rock formations, but now that she had time to process everything that had happened, it was clear to her that they were Pokémon. It was natural to assume that they were just wild Ice-type Pokémon innocently wandering around the area, except- No wild Pokémon lived here. There were stories and legends shared around the camp regarding why, but it is an indisputable fact that besides their annual party journeying to the Opal-point Precipice, no other Pokémon roamed these parts. What's more, a sudden snowstorm like this has never happened before. Previously, the area was a vast expanse of grasslands, hills, and valleys, dotted with wildflowers, so there was no way a wild Ice-type Pokémon would be here anyways.
The litten finally reaches Mimikyu, and they gladly welcome her in for tea again. As they heat up the tea, Lavender tells Mimikyu of her plan, and what she saw in the tunnel exit. It wouldn't be wise to just go out there and find those strange Pokémon without any prior preparation, so the both of them agreed to go and find out any information that could help before they set off for their expedition.
Lavender ran rounds around the basecamp, asking anyone who had time to spare. She heard of legends and old folktale from the other Pokémon and took notes. After making a list of all the compiled legends, stories, and interesting details she found out, Lavender runs off to the Bulletin Board, which she set up as a rendezvous point.
When Mimikyu arrives, the two of them huddle together and read through their respective notes.

Which one interests you the most?
> An old folktale of a powerful Alolan Ninetales that could call upon the harshest of winters.
> A legend of a surviving Aurorus that has lived here for centuries.
> Or, a story of a mystical Lapras that could apparently swim through the air as if in flight.
