APRIL 2023 EDIT: It seems this has been sort of resolved? Let's talk about the MOD: B&W Patches, as well as the original MOD: Piebald. As of right now, June 7th 2021, there is 80 original Piebald MODs and 109 B&W Patches. Now, I suppose that's not terrible, but it's not great either. These two MODs were released in 2016 (OG Piebald) and 2017 (B&W Patches) Which means over 4-5 years, this number has staggered. But it's extremely important to keep in mind that given how long ago these two dropped, it's safe to say at least half of these belong to banned or inactive accounts. When was the last time you saw the 2016 Piebald MOD for sale? The solution as I propose it is to add them to the weekly Lioden community raffles that are run by Katze #3 every week. Before you ask though, these will NOT be every week. I would say add them once a month, or even twice a month, to keep the rareness of the item, but allow for the community to have some way to get their hands on it again. Let's be honest, the Black Friday $100 prize pool is a mess. Staying at a monthly or bi-monthly rate and rotating them (one month is 2016 Piebald MOD, and then the next month or month after is B&W Patches), will keep numbers still low. --> Monthly would add 6 of both of the B&W Patches and the 2016 Piebald MOD into the game in ONE YEAR, and allow for more player to buy and sell as they please instead of the painfully long searches you see in the forums for them. --> Bi-monthly would add 3 of both MODs into the community A YEAR. People use MODs almost immediately after purchase primarily, so these MODs when won or sold, will be gone as quick as they arrive. Plus, there's also the chance for a winner to fall inactive or disappear after they've won, decreasing the number per year I calculated above. Please do consider this. People do like the piebald and patches variations from the first two MODs, and with clean breeding at a high, they are very valuable. |

As a clean breeder who’s obsessed with pies, I 100% support this. No offense to the Lioden devs, but as OP said the $100 prize pool is a mess and a half, and are a far cry from a useful way to insert more of those MODS into the game. The raffles would be a huge help for us that favor short lines (short, cleaned lined Light pies are some of my favorite things and also sometimes the hardest to get). 0 players like this post! As much as I like this idea and think its a good way to fix a growing problem, I'm worried it would never be implimented since pie mods have always come exclusively from paying irl currency Either way, supported and commenting to follow <3 0 players like this post! Like? |

I like this idea!! I don’t like “pay-to-win” stuff, it feels unfair that someone would have to pay irl money in order to achieve something in a game where you mainly use the already given in-game currency, considering so many people just don’t have money to spare— having it this way feels a lot more fair to those who either aren’t able to purchase with irl money or can’t find the applicator anywhere 0 players like this post! Support I generally hate that a lot of permanently banned accounts are filled with treasure such as old applicators exclusive decor and even rare mutts and bases that are hard to come by these days to have anything brought back would be great 1 player likes this post! Like? |

While, I do support the idea coming from this, I can see this never being done because of how Lioden works. Black Friday exclusives like that are to encourage people to support the costs that it takes to run the site and it's creators. With the mods being exclusive to the Black Friday sale, it ensures that people will pay 100 dollars just for the prize pool alone. Therefore, an easy marketing strategy for Lioden creators to use to get people to buy GB. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Actually, it's like a 2 in 33 or 34 chance to get one of these two MODs from the $100 bonus prize pool. edit: and it'll only grow this year when the 2020 mods are thrown into that pool. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 05/09/21 @ 23:02:34 by Roxanne #BLM (#121082) |

I think personally, if I may, that you would have far more sales if they actually sold these individually for 15-20-30 dollars, with a guarantee of you obtaining the item than the very obvious loot box sales that they've been doing. It would increase the amount in the game while also giving people incentive to buy the GB. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Gotta admit, I've never had interest at all in the Black Friday sales because I'm not about to pay 100 USD to fucking gamble. Finding a 2nd or 3rd Generation and mutie replacing is basically the easiest way to get the pie you want. Like a piebald but not willing to pay the absurd prices people charge just to get a return off that 100 USD they gambled? Wait a year. Pies go out of fashion incredibly fast in favor of the next year's. I honestly think that 1st Generation Pies and Patches applicators should just go up for sale at a flat rate in a special sale on the Oasis for USD every Black Friday. However, GB prices on Lioden are honestly suffering terrible inflation. 25 USD for 50 GB no longer is an accurate reflection of what GB is actually worth, and it's all the more obvious when I hesitate on looking at how very LITTLE I would get if I bought Black Friday sales. And all the real prizes are me taking a gamble. Why would I bother, especially knowing it'll be devalued the next year? Regardless of if you put the 1st Gen Pie and Patch apps up for sale directly, or include them in the market, something needs to be done, because Lioden is putting out new content so fast that the previous wave of content is being forgotten within a couple months. 1 player likes this post! I genuinely think that - if they're going to insist on keeping them Black Friday gambling exclusives - to at least let users choose which year's batch they want their prize from. That's 6 different apps each time, and you get one chosen at random. This kind of setup seems MUCH more fair, and would also help preserve the 1st gen's batch. I feel like that is PLENTY fair for people paying this much money. I'm kinda glad you made this? I went looking on branches the other day trying to find Pie Mods and was sort of shocked to find like no older ones? 0 players like this post! Like? |

I support. And kind of going off what other people had already said, I truly think the whole gambling with your money thing is really uncool. I'm sure if lioden was truly in deep financial trouble that this community would pull through to come up with some way to keep it afloat. Why do we have to gamble when we are the ones directly giving them money? Especially for something that will be devalued later on. Sure maybe the MoD's will always have a higher value in general over the actual mutation itself since you can use it on any lion you want, but I can just buy a lion with the same mutation a few months later for 1 GB when the new pies and patches have been bred into the ground. I would say piebald and patches is one of the least valuable mutations. They are gorgeous don't get me wrong, but they are literally everywhere, so I don't understand why devs are keeping up this idea that they are rare by only offering a MoD as a CHANCE instead of a guaranteed purchase for $100 even though I can wait for three months until their value plummets. Even if it's a random applicator and you can't choose the one you get is better than possibly nothing! I'm much more likely to offer my support from a guaranteed MoD, or even a guaranteed item that is locked to my account and can't be traded/transferred, than a chance at one, and I'd say that the og pies and patches would hold more value than the new ones they keep popping out every year. So I say yes, either give members the option to buy a deal that comes with older patches and pies MoD's guaranteed, or at least find a different medium to reintroduce the og applicators that doesn't feel ridiculously restricted/pay-to-win. 1 player likes this post!
