Introducing the Forbidden Temple!

The Forbidden Temple is here! Unlike the other temples, this temple will always be open, no matter which deity you are aligned with. It can be found on the Event tab and, in future years, will be available right away at 2:05am Lioden time on June 3rd. As this is a new feature for this year, the Forbidden Temple will automatically launch at midnight tonight (12am Lioden time)!

To purchase items within the Forbidden Temple, you will need to convert your Chaos Snake Scales into Chaos Scales, using the helpful "Convert All Chaos Snake Scales" button! One Chaos Snake Scale is equivalent to one Chaos Scale.

All existing crafting recipes that utilised Chaos Snake Scales have been removed from the crafting tab and can now be bought straight from the Forbidden Temple itself. In addition to the crafting recipes, new items have been added, exclusive to the Forbidden Temple!

Eye Update

Today, we have implemented an eye update we mentioned a few months ago! The pupils for eyes have been separated from the base lineart. If you're experiencing any issues, be sure to try clearing your browser's cache or doing a hard refresh to see the new updated files!

What is important for your comfort: for you, visually, this does not mean much change yet. You might notice a very subtle difference—the pupil outline will be a bit stronger due to the separation, but the old pupil inside is now merged with the old eye colours. We don't want the old eyes to change to a new style due to a possible sudden change in appearance of your lions. Instead, only future eye designs will be affected by what's coming!

1. New, more polished natural pupil for normal eyes released after this update

2. New pupil shapes - like Draconid eyes - they will be part of the eye colour/design (Goat, Intense, Slit, etc.)

3. Lack of pupil completely

This opens up so many possibilities for unique event eyes! We're starting this off with the fancy Snake eye applicator, available exclusively in the Forbidden Temple!

Snake Eye Genetics: 50% Snake, 10% Doom, 10% Jet, 10% Black, 10% Red, 10% Yellow

Admin Edit for Clarification: There will not be a pupil shape changer or anything like that. This pupil update is just to separate them from the base lineart and tie them directly to eye colours, allowing for more diverse pupil shapes (or pupil-less options) for future event eyes.

Additional Clarification: For anyone that is confused about the future of eye colours and pupils, think back to the Draconid eye colour. Previously, all eye colors needed to work around the old round pupil, which did not allow for much variety in pupil shape. In the case of Draconid, the round pupil was worked into the design, unlike the Snake Eye which allows for a much thinner pupil. This update was done to give the artists more flexibility regarding future eye colours and their built-in pupil shape.

Pride Month Update

Every June, we add a new batch of decorations dedicated to Pride Month. They're all available in Monkey Business for the duration of the month, and will appear in future years during June!

More Raffle Markings?!

Back in March 2021, a new marking shape was released: Indri. We mentioned that this marking shape may appear on raffle lionesses in a few recolours. If you're a fan of Indri, you may be pleased to see that today, we are officially releasing Indri as a raffle marking, in the following colours!

Wait, Bushveld?
Remember that green marking poll that was released a few weeks ago? We know that many of you want green markings, so we're starting off with this—the Bushveld base now has its own matching Bushveld raffle markings!

And, of course, Bushveld Indri, as was mentioned above! We specifically chose marking shapes that would best accentuate the green bits of Bushveld. We can't wait to see green spots and stripes haunting adorning all the lions of Lioden!

Art Bug Fixes and Minor Changes

* Bushveld base contained a typo for Teen Male Felis and Teen Male Ferus stages, this has been fixed
* Hollow decor had minor errors on Adult Male Incubus mane
* Nest of Mice: Midnight Mates had a smudge on Cub Newborn stage
* Prune Thrashed Back marking was missing for Teen Female stage
* Adult Female Evil pose has had its lineart adjusted to have deeper contrast and work better with dark bases. We are working on the Teen Female pose as well for next updates.

Bug Fixes and Minor Changes

* Equipping backgrounds and decorations to your lions (via Hoard and Lion Equipper) will now log the amount of uses the background/decoration had before and after its use within your user log; removing backgrounds and decorations (via lion page and Lion Equipper) will also create user log entries
* Item IDs will now log in user logs when buying and selling items via Branches
* Removing items from your Branch will now create a user log entry detailing what items were removed, as well as including their item IDs
* When attacking another player for territory via PVP, the user log entry for losing will now properly link to the other player's king
* Winning a "One Winner Takes All" raffle will now create a user log entry detailing what raffle you won and the prize(s) you won from it
* On June 6th, raffle processing was paused for a short time due to an error - this has since been resolved
* On June 11th, Branch prices were unable to be adjusted for a short time due to an error - this has since been resolved

Lion Wardrobe Issues

As noted on the Lion Wardrobe page, we are aware of the loading issues and are currently working to get these resolved. While there has been some improvement made through minor optimizations in the last week or so, behind-the-scenes work continues in order to improve performance and loading times. We do not have an ETA for when these changes will be completed, though we will be sure to announce the changes once they are ready to go live. Thank you all for your patience thus far!

Updating Files

As the news is posted, scripts are running and the artists are working. Lion profile pictures may take an entire day before they swap to the new eye setup. The June event bases for mutations are being updated with a small delay, but should arrive within a couple of days. Be aware that some decorations are still being updated for Adult Male mane shapes, too! Updated!
