What gameplay feature is this bug affecting?
Chat

What's the issue? Please include any error messages you receive and as much detail as possible.
When posting a link in chat that is then followed by an emote, players who forget to add a space between the link and the emote will cause a glitch in the chat that causes the link to actually open inside the chat box instead of opening a new tab to view the link.

When done incorrectly the link will look like this: www.insertlinkhere.com:emote name here: This will then open the link inside the chat, forcing the player to then reload the page in order to see chat again if they click the broken link.

Any links relating to this bug? For example, if a particular lion is bugging, what is the link to that lion?
N/A

Any screenshots you can provide us with?

When you click the link:

Please provide us with step by step explanation how this bug happened so we can attempt to replicate it. If it's complex, please include screenshots where possible:
Copy-paste the link into the chatbox, then use one of any of the emotes and delete the space separating the link from the emote and send it. It will cause the link to appear as [“ target=“_blank”>link] instead of [link].

Thank you for the report! This should be fixed now. Originally, with the way that auto-linking works, it treated the emote text as part of the URL. When the URL was auto-converted to HTML it looked like this:

<a href="https://www.example.org/sample:emote:">link</a>

Then, when the script tried to convert the :emote: text to an image tag, it ended up like this:
<a href="https://www.example.org/sample<img src="https://static.lioden.com/images/emotes/emote.png" alt="emote.png" />

Which the browser would interpret in a completely broken way.

I've updated it so that it now strips valid emote text from links before auto-linking them.

Ah, thank you so much!

By the way, when I used the bug in chat so I could have an example of said bug I believe I got muted due to “exploitation” of the bug. Completely off-topic, I was just wondering if this mute will be lifted in a day or so ^^?

I can confirm that your account was not muted or anything like that. Is the chat just not loading properly for you? It may have gotten "stuck" after I restarted it earlier in order to patch the bug. Sometimes the browser won't let go of the socket connection. In this case, you can try loading the site in Incognito/Private mode for now and seeing if the chat connects.

Let me know if that doesn't help!

See, it’s weird because it works just fine on my side! But it just will not load on my main which is why it caused me to think I got muted.
Thanks for confirming, however! I’ll see if it fixes itself by morning and take your advice, Hopefully my chat is just being buggy for a lil while
