January: Great Hunger
Wiki Page

Event Overview
January is a really easy, straightforward month. The storyline is date based and consistent, and rewards some apps, dΓ©cor, and hyena meat at the end. Get currency at your own rate, there are items that resell well but it's not a huge money maker month.

General Tips

-Many players take a hiatus or roll slow this month
-You can unlock a Reptile Roundup level (Kaokoveld) this month by collecting 700 Carrion Eaters points.
-The Cannibal Lion encounter with the Kill! battle option has a low chance to drop Lionmeat.
-This month is an SB sink, meaning it's good to have stocked up on SB before hand. GB to SB exchange rates will be favorable to SB.

What to Buy, How to Collect Currency

dermestid.pngLeather Beetles

Collect through explore and daily quests.

Info here

Items to Buy

Two ways to buy, through the shop and through the Boneyard. The Boneyard is a randomized shop, where it costs 2% energy or skulls to roll through.

sb.png The Carrion Shop: Some of the more popular Tier 3 apps will sell well later one, but if you want to make a certain good profit buy Lionmeat, which is a mutation item. None of the dΓ©cor sells exceptionally well. Vulture eggs also be bought for a profit but they are a pain to sell, especially in a volume that makes it worth it.
dermestid.png The Boneyard: Buy Mutie on Demand: Primal and Giant Torts, and a few Leopard Orchids if markets on the others are very bad. Buy nothing else.

Food Pit

Don't be a weenie, donate to the food pit until it's at least tier 1 and fills 20% hunger, or preferable tier 2 where it fills 40%. Then no one has to worry about hunting and getting food.

July: Meteor Showers
Link to Wiki Page

Event Overview
The guide for this month is subject to great change, as the event is still being tweaked by staff and it's very, very new.

General Tips

-This month is an SB sink, meaning it's good to have stocked up on SB before hand. GB to SB exchange rates will be favorable to SB.
-This is a popular event and event month, and there is typically increased activity on site.

What to Buy, How to Collect Currency

icon_axion.png Axion Cores

Info Axion Cores are collected by winning battles and exploring in the Celestial Explore.

shards.png Meteorite Shards

Meteorite Shards are found in regular explore.

Items to Buy

icon-beetle-silver.png Tefnut Temple/Memories:TBA
icon_axion.png Draco Demiurge Exchange: TBA

Celestial Explore and Battling

Celestial Battling is an area where you can spend 5 meteorites to take a step and battling galactic beings to earn the event currency Axion Cores.

Battle Guide

General tip is to not have energy while battling, as you will not be required to use energy if you have 0 energy. Having lucky feet saved from April helps. After the spoiler is a quick guide to Celestial Battling, it's subject to change.

Celestial Raffle
Every 12 hours, rare based lions are "raffled" for 5 Axion Cores. These lions range from valuable to INSANELY valuable as these lions introduce the site's most desired bases, markings, and eyes. Guide to bases, marks and eyes after the spoiler.

Celestial Portal ("Murder Portal")

Send 44 non-cub lions through the portal to get 30% energy, 30 SB, 3% expression, or experience. Lions to send must not have had cubs in the last five rollovers and can't be secured. They CAN be adolescents, meaning some tactful breeding can give you a better supply ahead of time. Keep in mind due to this NCLs sell for more during times the murder stone is available, and getting enough daily lions can be difficult.
It's referred to as the Murder Stone since in the previous July event the same mechanic existed, but with the lore as a stone. I guess it's now the Murder Portal. Lore is they go to an exotic land, but they get completely wiped from the server as if they were killed/sent to reserve.

Pulsar Breeding

Blah

Journey to Vredefort (Adventuring)

Journey to Vredefort Crater can only be opened in July for 5,000SB. The "prize" for completing Vrdedfort in the Interstellar Remnants Base Applicator. The Journey to Vredefort Crater is located in the Adventuring Tab located HERE. This adventure takes at least a month to complete, and requires a lot of actions and items, and the guide requires its own post. For a complete guide, visit my guide HERE.

August: Droughts and Fires
Link to Wiki Page

Event Overview
It's the other Buffalo Scrotum month, so it's time collect dry bones in explore!

ratguide.png General Tips
ratguide.png
-Explore Consciously, the mysterious stranger encounter requires an action as you must click to get the app or other prize. Clicking past this encounter is a disappointment you don't need in life.
-Choose explore encounters based on reward, and only try to open a specific shop towards the end of the month.
-Focus on Dry Bones to get Buffalo Scrotums.
-Fight through the eyestrain and play Fire Escape daily
-There's no wet season this month EXCEPT on the 14th and 28th.
-Don't choose battle encounters this month. Most have NO event benefit and act like a normal battle. This includes the flaming lion, drinking elephant, and agitating the waterhole animals. Drought Humans only give 1-2 Carrion Beetles.

BuffaloScrotum.png What to Buy, How to Collect Currency
BuffaloScrotum.png

beetlecarrion.pngCarrion Beetles

This currency is used for purchasing decor. Consider it a secondary currency.

bone.pngDry Bones

This currency is used for purchasing breeding items at the Peddler, and should be the focus in encounter choices. Check the encounter choices to see which are best for bones here. Additionally, the Fire Escape game is a great way to get both currencies.

Items to Buy

There are three shops this event, two that are dependent on "karma" actions that only have dΓ©cor and The Peddler that has useable items.

bone.png The Peddler:Only buy GrainOfParadise.png Grain of Paradise or BuffaloScrotum.png Buffalo Scrotums. Do not buy anything else, and focus on Buffalo Scrotums. While Vulture Eggs, Broken Drones, and Lucky Foot sell, they are not worth their Dry Bone price at all and are easily accessible from other shops and game mechanics.
beetlecarrion.png The Destroyers: dΓ©cor that sell well are ___UPDATE____.
beetlecarrion.png The Preservers: dΓ©cor that sells well are ____UPDATE____.

I do not advise heavily investing in backgrounds this year to resell later, you get more resell value from decors.

scar_outcast.png Destroyers/Preservers Shop Opening Mechanic
scar_outcast.png
Shops are not opened by dates or site-wide accumulation of currency, but rather by an individual user karma mechanic. This means you are solely in charge of opening which ever shop you want. It's best to wait to open whichever shop you want towards the end of the event, and focus on just acquiring currency. If you start trying to open your shop of choice around the 25th, you should have plenty of time even if you're a very slow explorer. You can see which encounters give good points and evil points HERE, but it's pretty easy to distinguish which is the good action and which is the evil action. Kill stuff is evil, non-violence or helpful actions are good.

humanskeletonhg.png Maneater Studs
humanskeletonhg.png
Maneater Studs (AKA Savage Males on the Wiki) are studable event Males that release new event breed-only attributes such as manes, marks and bases. Since these are new bases and marks, the best strategy is to breed lionesses that are similar genetics and with as little markings as possible, such as NCLs.
Manater Studs cost 600 Carion Beetles beetlecarrion.png or 200 Dry Bones bone.png. It is heavily recommended that studs are only bought with Carrion Beetles, as Dry Bones are significantly more valuable.

africancucumber.png Thirst Mechanic
africancucumber.png
The thirst mechanic is specific to August, and only effects your exploring stud. It only effects your lion when the thirst hits 100%, you can no longer battle NPCs. However, you shouldn't be battling NPCs this month, and thirst event and drops happen frequently in explore.
How to Fix Thirst: you need a thirst-quenching herb, which are African Cucumber (5%). Aloe Leaf (5%). Stripped Cacti (15%). and Water Root (100%).
How to Get Thirst Herbs: Extremely easy to obtain in explore as drops are boosted, can buy from other players, if none are cheaply available from other players can be bought from the Beetle Grounds for 20sb for a random herb, though this gives you a random herb that might not be a thirst herb.

foodbundle.png Food and Hunts
foodbundle.png
Part of the effects of the fires this month is that hunts fail significantly more often. Worry not, if you explore often and pick the right choices you'll probably have more food than any other month. Check the wiki for exact rewards!

vultureegg.png Tracking Herds and Vulture Chase
vultureegg.png
Not a good use of dry bones. It is not advised to use this mechanic if you're trying to maximize income, as reward is a minimal amount experience, and dry bones are very valuable.
