I was thinking about the broodmothers and thought it would be cute if there was a chance for broodmothers to have a flavor text specifically about them watching the cubs! I also started to think of what flavor texts could depend on the personality type of the broodmother.

I made some suggestion texts below, please feel free to suggest more! :D

[GENERAL, ALL LIONESS PERSONALITIES]

This morning you saw that [Lioness Name] was grooming the cubs she was protecting. One cub wasn’t too happy about that though; something about her messing up their mane.

[Lioness Name] is engaged in a game of Baoball with the cubs! Their little laughter makes your heart melt a little.

[EVIL]

In an epic display of ferocity, you witnessed [Lioness Name] fend off a hyena stalking one of the cubs. She gave it one last snarl before promptly turning on the cub and chastising them for being so careless. The poor cub looked more scared of her than the hyena…

[Lioness Name] has gathered the cubs around her as though she were creating a sinister cub army. You feel slightly nervous.

[NEUTRAL]

You heard laughter coming from the den. When you went to investigate, you saw [Lioness Name] watching the cubs reenact the story of a battle you had won recently.

[SNARKY]

One of the cubs snuck out last night! Thankfully [Lioness Name] could guess where they went off to, and when she found them she gave them quite the earful. You didn’t miss the relief in her voice though.

[KIND]

As you visit your pride mates, you overhear [Lioness Name] teaching the cubs she’s watching the importance of sharing. The cubs look bored, but are paying attention nonetheless.

[GOOD]

[Lioness Name] comes over to you with the cubs and uses you as an example of why grooming to look your best is so important. The cubs all listen intently, and you feel good the rest of the day.

[SPECIFICALLY FOR NURTURING LIONESSES]

You see [Lioness Name] snuggled up next to the cubs she is protecting. You don’t think you’ve ever seen her more content.

You go to greet [Lioness Name] but she shushes you immediately. You look around you and realize all the cubs are sound asleep. Weren’t they just bouncing off the walls a few minutes ago?? How did she do that!?

MANE MUTATIONS

You overhear one of the cubs ask [Lioness Name] why she has a mane when only male lions had manes, and she coolly says it’s because she’s growing it out. Now all the cubs want to do the same!

OVERGROWN FUR

The cubs have dragged [Lioness Name] into a game of hide and seek. As it turns out, [Lioness Name]’s extra fluff can make a pretty good cover!

DWARFISM

[Lioness Name] may be smaller than some of the cubs she’s protecting, but after watching her scold some almost-teenagers for being too sassy, it’s pretty clear to you who’s in charge here.

A group of cubs rushes past you, only for a panting [Lioness Name] to scamper up a few moments later. Poor [Lioness Name] is trying to keep up with the cubs she’s watching, but her little legs can only carry her so fast!

CLAWLESS

[Lioness Name] may not have claws, but you still watched her give a hungry jackal eyeing a cub a smack that made YOUR head spin. Good job!

PRIMALS

You’re sitting with [Lioness Name] when one of the cubs scampers up and asks why [Lioness Name]’s fangs are so much cooler than yours. Great, now you’re self conscious!

BOBBED TAIL

[Lioness Name] is playfully letting the cubs chase and bat at her tail….well, at least what’s there.

ALL HYBRIDS

You overhear a cub ask why [Lioness Name] looks different than the other lions. She cooly shrugs and says she’s just built different.
