Invisible Disorder Awareness Lions Project (IDALP)
*****NOTICE: Still on hiatus from Lioden, but working towards more lions! As always thank you for all the support!!<3~Liz*****
About
The Project
So this project was started one night when I was looking about lioden's diverse community and I thought about how I could bring awareness of invisible disorders to lioden. I mean after all most of everyone has something wrong with them so why not prove the idea that you never know what the people on the other side of the screen are going through! For this project I've partnered with many people with many different disabilities/illnesses in order to get a bit of a glimpse into some less visible issues people deal with.
The Creator
Hi! My name's Lizzie but I go by Liz, I'm a nonbinary mentally ill little human that loves lioden. I own a little clan called Moonlite Mannor Rescue , a clan dedicated to helping new or less fortunate players get some pretty babies for cheaper prices. Having played lioden for my fair share of time, I've seen lots of people with lots of different disabilities. Now I know lioden is a home for everyone of all different walks of life I figured that lioden could really use some disability awareness, but in a fun way! Have a good look and don't forget how loved you are, and if no one's told you today, I love you and am so proud of you!

Lypher Self H@rm Awareness (no link)
| Lore: As you come to visit Lypher you see something on him but don't directly say anything to him, he notices you looking at them and moves his feet out of view "don't ask" he growls "not your body not your problem". You walk in front of his turned face and show him your old scars. He looks at you in shock. "Listen I can't say it'll get better, but I can say that they are nothing to be ashamed of, they show your battles and what you made it through, it shows that you're a warrior Lypher, It doesn't mean your weak" Lypher watches as you walk away then gazes down at his scars.

Aurora Autism Awareness
Lore: In the shade of a tree sat Aurora, eyes trained on a beetle in front of them, seeming to barely notice your presence. You watch the beetle together in silence until it flies onto a higher branch causing Aurora to look up at you. Their eyes flit about your facial features, avoiding your stare.
“You’re different from the others… Most would kill a beetle like that for its carapace.” You mutter, noticing Aurora’s gaze halt on your mouth.
They shrug, turning towards a patch of sand and stretching out a claw before beginning to scribble in the sand. Before you can react, they’ve stopped scribbling and look up at you. The letters read:
“My difference is my strength.”
You look up and see Aurora draw a deep breath.
“My difference felt like it hurt me for many years, but now I accept that it’s who I am. It’s not something to be ashamed of or to hide.” They sigh, padding over to the shade of the tree once more.
“It wasn’t hurting me, I was just trying to bury it. Now I feel good about it, and it doesn’t hurt anymore.” They continue, stretching out their legs and flicking their tail rhythmically before curling up and staring at a new beetle. (Lore by 🌌rizla💙#364872 )
Not too many things I can say about this other than I personally struggle with this and I know it's hard and I know its exhausting.

Elora- BPD Awarness
| Lore: As you go for your daily stroll, you find Elora laying in the sand. She seems to be thinking about something. "Uh Elora, are you okay?" you say with a curious tone. "Yea I'm just tired, tired of the smallest inconveniences causing me to hurt the people I love the most. I'm trying to heal i really am but it's as if I wake up and am just instantly angry, I see everything in black or white with no grey area. It's really hard to try to stay calm, and i hate hurting people around me."
PSA: this lore was based off my own personal experiences and not everyone with BPD experiences the same thing.
BPD is fairly common affecting more that 1.6% (over 4 million people) of the worlds population, it is more likely to affect women with about 75% of the cases, but can affect anyone of any gender. It is known to be one of the deadliest mental illness with a suicide fatality rate of 8-10% and at least 70% of people with this illness will attempt it. One suspected reason of why its so challenging to deal with is the fact that over 40% are misdiagnosed with other disorders such as bipolar disorder. As always i have some resources for you, and my dm's are always open as I too struggle with this disorder.

Hobie~ DID Awareness
Lore: N
“I wanted to ask you something.” She took a deep breath before she spoke, pausing in her step. Hobie took a few more before realizing she had stopped and turning his large body towards her. She sat down, hips aching. He nodded and tilted his head as if asking her to go on. “I have noticed some… things.. There are days where you seem to be completely different. Your personality shifts. One day you will happily eat a zebra and the next you won’t even touch it and say you hate it. Some days you’re fine with touch and others you’re snapping at someone for touching you the very next minute… I don’t know what’s going on, but I would like to help.” She explained gently.
Hobie’s face fell as she spoke, head lowering a bit. He nodded to her words as he sat down, lowering his body fully to the ground and tucking his paws underneath him. “You’re not wrong.. I have been changing… because it’s not just me up here..” he lowered his head and put his paw over his head for a moment. He looked up at Noctus, expecting her to look at him like he was insane. But she didn’t. She was looking at him with interest and kindness. “I have… other me-s up here… Some of them use different names.. they take over my body in different situations or when they want to… They help me! They’re a part of me! But they all have different likes and dislikes and tastes and things!” His blue eyes looked panicked up at her.
The gray coated female laid down, groaning as she did. She stretched a paw out, laying it over one of his softly. “It’s alright, Hobie.” She soothed. “I would love to meet these other versions of you. I want to get to know them as well. I want to help.” She said gently.
“You… You believe me? And… You do?” He asked, tone hesitant and filled with disbelief.
“Yes. I do.” She leaned forward and licked over his nose playfully and in a motherly, grooming way. “Lions in my old pride had this too. It’s called D.I.D. or Dissociative Identity Disorder. It means there are more of you that help in stressful situations and live in your head. They’re there to protect you and take care of you. I want to get to know every single part of you, Hobie. I want to help you and your other alters feel safe and secure. I know there will be bad days, but I will be here to get you through them. I promise.” She pressed her forehead to his. He purred softly in response, reaching up to lay his paw over her shoulder and neck.
“Thank you, Noctus. You’re a great friend.” He whispered, feeling just a bit more content that he had someone to help him through learning this new part of himself.
Unfortunately the lore had to be cut a bit shorter to maintain aesthetics so here's a link to the FULL LORE

Juniper ADHD Awareness
Lore: Rose (one of the best cub training teachers) walks up to Juniper sitting with her head swung low to the ground beside a tree during lessons “Juniper, what's wrong we were just about to start pouncing practice, are you okay” Rose said starting to playfully nuzzle Juniper. “I’m not going to practice anymore, I’m just a stupid failure anyways, I can't stay focused and I don’t get it as easy as the other cubs in my class” Juniper replied turning away from Rose. “Juniper, you are not a failure, you just have ADHD you get things a bit different than others, but that doesn’t mean you are any less than them. You are just as smart as all the other cubs and getting distracted is okay, you’re young” said Rose. “Really? But I don’t learn as quickly as the other ones, and I’m super clumsy” “That’s okay Juniper, if it makes you feel any better I have it as well, it’s gotten a bit better with age but I used to get in trouble as a cub and come to this same tree. I can help you outside of classes on the skills if you’d like and we can get just as distracted and hyper as we want and make it fun!” ‘Really, we can!?” “Yeah we can” Rose chuckled, “Now come on, lets go learn to pounce!”
This lion was specifically made to be female because most often times women are 50-75% more likely to go misdiagnosed with ADHD. I myself do have this disorder so the lore is based soley on my experiences with it.

Rusty Body Dysmorphia Awareness
Lore: You are walking beside the lake just watching fish swim by when you see Rusty off to himself and it seems like he’s crying but you’re too far to tell. You approach him and say “Yo Rusty, you good dude?” he quickly dries any remaining tears and with a slightly spiteful tone says “Yes Neveah I’m fine just got a leaf in my eye.” “You sure, it sounded like you were crying, you know I’m here for you right? What’s going on?” Rusty hesitates but proceeds to tell you what’s going on, “I’m not as good looking as all the other male lions, I’m short, and chubby, and my mane isn’t as long and I don’t have pretty markings like all the other ones” A single tear slips from his eye as he finishes the list. “Oh rusty, your adorable how you are, your eyes are one in a million, you have the sweetest smile I’ve ever seen, your mane- even if its short its the softest in the entire pride, your the perfect size to snuggle up to, after all I am a dwarf. If I’m being honest I’ve had a crush on you for the longest time, and all the things you’re insecure about are my favorite things about you. You are sweet and selfless and kind. You’re amazing Rusty”
Rusty was made a male lion to show that men too struggle with it although it is more common in women, about 40% of cases are males and in cosmetic surgery settings it is more prevalent in men. Men are also more likely to develop substance abuse issues due to it. Men tend to be more self conscious of things such as their hair, weight, skin, nose and height. Men’s mental health is more commonly overlooked so when you see them you don’t typically think anything is wrong. This specific lion is dropping in June which is Men’s Mental Health Month.
