The Ripple Pride
The Ripple Pride lives in "The Pond Between Worlds" an almost magical pond where 4 terrains meet. The first and albeit most dangerous realm is the savannah, inhabited by a multitude of dangerous predators and overrun with wild dogs, always warring with the multitude of prides that have taken host there. The savannah itself proves dangerous containing not only the natural dangers of extreme heat but also the dangers of traps laid by viscous humans, although sacred beetles are found almost exclusively in the savanna complicating the balance of pride life. The grassy battlefield is also extremely warm, though sparse shade is provided through the limited acacia trees.
The 2nd terrain the Rainforest is almost the polar opposite with plenty of shade and warm humid nights. The prides that do live there generally mean no harm, and coexist almost peacefully with the wildlife which is more abundant there then anywhere else, the elementals of the pride use herbs and plants almost exclusively from the Rainforest. However nothing is ever as it seems and the Rainforest though it appears friendly at first glance is actually full of a dark magic that controls whoever it may come in contact with becoming a unified being.
The 3rd terrain is where the Ripple Pride makes their home and is the better of the four options. The 3rd terrain is rather hilly with cooler temperatures but is fairly livable. There are a number of caves in which the pride makes their homes in. Gems are in abundance here as well as small game and if you're lucky the occasional mountain goat. However lions aren't the only predators roaming the hills foxes, coyotes and wildcats also live in caves but the prides tight defence usually keeps them at bay.
The 4th terrain is the most mysterious and is known only as the ethereal. Lions go missing there animals stumble out barely alive and masses of darkness pace the borders. At night you can hear yowls of pain and there have even been reports of mythical beast both light and dark darting from the borders. More investigation will be needed as the healers have found useful but rare plants there.

Ranks (Numbers are order of eating)
1.Elders-The true leaders of the pride Elder lionesses who keep the pride running and organize ranks, knowing exactly what needs to be done and when.
2.Mothers&Cubs-Moms and cubs who eat and begin very light training (Moms are only excused from hunting for 3 months they then hunt small game with cubs in tow)
3.King-Tint, in charge of making sure relations are good and picking up the slack when resources are low.
4.Elementals-The healers of the group, they care for the sick and injured but also cause the sick and injured of other prides by making poisons and weapons. They are also oracles between the prides ancestors and particularly good at threat assessments of other prides and wanderers.
5.Broodmothers-Caring for cubs and organizing pride sleeping arrangements mothers can be temporary brood mothers.
6.Patrollers-In charge of getting the lay of the land and being additional support for food and supplies, can be sent out on specific missions by Elders and huntresses.
7.Huntresses-Allowed to eat 15% of their kills on hunts and eat and additional helpings at the pride. They are in charge of making sure that all kills are skinned for their valuable hides,and operating the local trading branch on days where the pride makes the trip to the central trading island.
8.Warriors-The protectors and fighters of the pride in charge of keeping everyone in peak physical condition, and neutralizing potential threats. They also pin any newcomers for interrogation before they are allowed to mingle with the pride.
9.Adolescents/Apprentices-Required to hunt for themselves as a test of strength. Apprentices with an Elder for lessons and pride history then with each job on a rotating schedule for hands on work until they choose if they stay in the pride to do a job or leave the pride to become a wanderer.
